"At the core of President Donald Trump’s decision to impose sweeping tariffs on U.S. trading partners is a fixation on closing, if not reversing, America’s trade deficit with nearly all of them."

A trade surplus or trade deficit does not speak to the cost of trade imposed by each nation. The trade surplus with the UK should be EVEN LARGER if the terms were fair. Now they are becoming fair. You have a very poor understanding of business and economics if you fail to grasp this simple concept.

unsolicitated corroboration from Traitor George as to the lack of planning/organization as it relates to Trump's ill-conceived tariffs,

the dotard's trade advisor, shortly after the so-called liberation day, on 1 April 2025, said that Trump will negotiated all the deals with all the countries within a week.
some 6 weeks later, Trump admin makes a big deal out of a press conference about UK, when the UK prime minister is not even in the US

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/mar...nt-with-britain/ar-AA1EnwAb?ocid=BingNewsSerp

ever since Brexit in 2020, UK had tried to secured a comprehensive trade deal w the US, every Prime Minister has failed, until now.

UK's current PM, Keir Starmer, has not secured the comprehensive free trade deal with the US long-promised by Brexiteers, but simply
a carve-out for the UK from rump’s tariffs. Negotiations will continue about a wider trade pact, with key obstacles around agriculture remaining.

    oh ok

JP Morgan said in a note early Thursday that the scope of the U.K. deal was limited and the economic impact for Britain would be "very small," adding that the political choreography of the move appeared to take precedence over its substance.

In three months, MAGA will blame the UK for empty shelves in Walmart. Count on it.

Awful symbolism. Brexit hasn't been Great for Britain and maga is going for a bigger Brexit if the deals don't flow.

Points for branding UK's special relationship. Americans are like whatever little buddy.

It would've been a big catch if it were an Asian country like Japan, India or even South Korea. They have China as neighbor to live with

Still need to pour over details. As the first deal, supposedly it's the nicest we'll offer, or so WH says.

It is so. My 401k recovered its losses from Liberation Day (if not all the losses it's taken since Trump was elected). Which is not an endorsement or defense of his stupid trade policy. But, I will recognize that as of this moment, I'm at least treading water.

But ...Trump now gets to host the Scottish Championship at his resort. It always goes back to what he gets personally from foreign policies doesn't it?

The man is waiving his salary. All of it. And you still think he's in it for money? He would have made much more money by never entering politics.

Are you selling the rebound though? What happens when the 90 day tariff pause ends?

    isreal is 8,470 sq miles
USA is 3.81 MILLION square miles

yes, because the government and businesses always get their estimates right. dont you claim to work in construction or something?

    https://www.defenseone.com/technolo...plan-would-put-weapons-space-big-cost/402630/

Trump’s ‘Iron Dome for America’ plan would put weapons in space, at a big cost
It’s a Cold War concept for a mission whose threats and tools have long since changed.

President Donald Trump’s executive order to create a “next-generation missile defense shield” that can “defend its citizens and critical infrastructure against—any foreign aerial attack on the Homeland” is technically and budgetarily difficult at best, experts said.

One disconnect between the dream and the reality appears in the order’s title: “The Iron Dome for America.” Taken literally, this suggests the use of the Iron Dome anti-missile system made by Raytheon and Rafael and used effectively in recent conflicts by Israel. But Iron Dome is designed to protect cities or installations from missiles and drone threats of relatively short range, about 50 miles. Given the terrain and geography of the United States, the system might be useful for protecting a city like, say, El Paso, Texas, from a rocket attack emanating from Mexico, but not much else.

“Each Iron Dome system can defend an area of roughly 150 square miles. We would need to deploy more than 24,700 Iron Dome batteries to defend the 3.7 million square miles of the continental United States. At $100 million per battery, that would be approximately $2,470,000,000,000”—and that $2,470 trillion system would be good only against relatively small and slow weapons, not incoming ICBMs, nuclear analyst Joe Cirincione wrote last year for Defense One.

This is an example of why I really should stop reading the d&d. That is the most disingenuous statement that I could truly fathom someone saying. Right up there with Republicans of today abolished slavery. It’s a waste of time and life is finite.

Here let me write a paragraph now about how Biden was just fine and had all of his capacities to function in the year of 2024 as president.

That’s a fu*king dumb thing to say and you know it. Yeah I think I’m taking a break from this section of the forum.

The truth has broken you. I think @peleincubus could be close to his intellectual awakening -- when he breaks free from the media's mind control over him. I will welcome you with open arms into the independent critical thinkers club!
