He's only 19 He's only 20 He's only 21 He's only 22 He's only 23 His fanbois will wait forever, but I think it's time to move on, at least from him being in a starter role.
I honestly don't know. People keep talking about 2nd seed and all, but I only see two of our young players as clearly above average starter in the league, and that's Amen and Sengun. Everyone else has either disappointed or are still just question marks. Even Tari who's play has always been impactful is a major injury question. So is the trio of Amen/KD/Sengun with say average role players around them worthy of championship contention? I'm skeptical. That said, regardless of whether the Rockets get a star, they need more shooting or else Amen and Sengun are not going to have the proper spacing to further develop.
I find this reasonable. I’m generally optimistic coming off of the regular season. I think he needs to be about our fourth best player if we are trying to win a title. And the second option on the perimeter and maybe even the third scoring option overall.
Until we throw away a couple more playoffs due to Jalen underperforming.. Stone basically came out in the press conference and said the next couple seasons don't matter because we have to be patient and wait for Jalen. Idk why this front office is so hell bent on catering to Jalen Green. Stone maybe doesn't want to admit he's made horrible drafting choices.
"Jalen's only 31 bro, such and such played until he was 40!!! Jalen's still got 9 years left bro, his potential is through the roof trust me bro he's only 31"
The only effective weaponizing of Jalen, is strapping him into a cannon and firing him out of Houston.
It sounds like Boston will need to let a top player go after this season due to cap etc etc. I would love to see the Rockets trade Green for Brown. Brown is more consistent and has won championships.
