Pitching will cover a lot of flaws - but when you have scored 3 or less runs in 60% of your games - you better do something or accept your fate.
astros just keeping it a houston thing. no offense. texans - no offense rockets - no offense uh coogs - no offense astros - no offense the only thing the astros are good at is loading the bases. that's it. and maybe some pitching but eventually the pitching will prolly go bad too.
They were below 0.500 at the end of June last year and still won the division by 3+ games. People write obituaries for teams all the time for no reason.
I won't dispute that, but it is never ideal, and the AL is more winnable this year than it has been in a long long time.
Everyone got a hit but Dezenzo, were getting on base but we can't move them around, Lord help us if we load the bases. I love my Astros but there the most boring team to watch right now and I watch every game...............Its bizzaro world where Walker is hitting .202 and Meyers is hitting .301, is first base a place where players come to die or what? IMO, Espada is not the guy, this team needs a swift kick in the a$$, they look lifeless, lost and unmotivated. Me thinks this will be a long season, yes, I am spoiled, and it sucks when you come back down to earth and realize your just a .500 ball club
This team is fine, but that's all it is. There's nothing special there. Maybe they get hot at some point, but more likely this is just a basically average baseball team.
I don't know if I would call it “lost”. They are pressing, that’s for sure. I think it might be more about handling the pressure and going up there relaxed. Astros are something like 4 for 39 with bases loaded. That can really only get better.
Dezenzo (DH) instead of Rodgers. Chas (LF) instead of Caratini. (That means Altuve to 2b- obviously- which since it's our flyballingest pitcher now would be a good time for that). Just once it'd be nice to play the 9 best hitters considering there is enough versatility that you could definitely all play them at the same time.
Espada loves using both catchers. Well, at least we have a 3rd one right now. Still, isn’t he supposed to be getting Dezenzo at bats? Woulda been a great night to DH him, but I guess he went hitless last game. That’s how Joe rolls now. Zach will take a seat next to Chas, who is still being punished for his hitless game last week. Jake batting 6th. Joe, it’s ok if someone hits well at the bottom of the order, doesn’t always mean they gotta go to the middle of the lineup. Doesn’t usually work out and you know what kind of hitter Jake is by now. I know you wanna take advantage of a hot bat, but moving him up like that could also cool him off. Weak hitters, hot or not, belong in the bottom 3rd and jake is a great 9 hole hitter.
That 5-7 of Meyers, Caratini and Rodgers has to be scaring the **** out of the Brewers.... nothing like going against an all glove CF that the Astros tried to trade for JAG reliever, a backup catcher and a middle infielder that the Rockies non tendered. I am surprised Dubon isn't in the clean up spot with one of those fancy bats the Yankees use.
