I’m appreciative for all that Ime has done but I honestly believe

    Yes, we made moves.

And yes, he took over the worst team and made them a two seed within two years.

Those are not mutually exclusive propositions.

The point was once you added the vets they were no longer the worst team....regardless of Ime.

Serious question. Which coach would you rather have over Ime?

    Rick Carlisle
    Spo
    Atkinson?

    He's a top 10 coach easily

The problem with this is that Ime is going to insist on bringing back FVV and is going to insist the he play 35+ minutes and start. The only way to get a better PG is to get rid of FVV.

I’ve sat in management meetings and watched valuable profit centers go virtually bankrupt due to this sort of talk.

I agree we have to keep an eye on his development but I bet you anything he will get an extension this summer.

You simply cannot win when your backcourt combines for 19 points on 9/36 shooting.

Bari was your ONLY consistent scorer in game 1, a winnable game, and you didn’t play him or make plays for him.

In Game 3 he was fire as well. Game 6 he legit arguably won us that game with those clutch shots.

Ime doesn’t utilize half the tools he’s given and i have no idea why.

    Ime has his drawbacks.

    1) He favors vets over less experienced players regardless of how they perform. See the playing time of Fred, Dillon, and Jae'Sean.

    2) He doesn't have the patience or desire to develop young players. Cam and Reed being the most egregious examples, but I'd throw Jabari in there too.

    3) He possesses outdated old school philosophies like "defense wins championships"(it does, but only with a complementary really good or great offense) and the rotations are tightened in the postseason.

The good news is most of this can be remedied by the front office. Trading away some of the vets or declining their options will force him to give guys like Reed and Jabari more minutes. And they could always add an offensive coordinator type to the coaching staff.

Coaches of good teams doing well so they won't change out for Udoka: Daigneault, Atkinson, Carlisle, Finch, Mazzulla, Thibs, Kerr

Coaches of teams who aren't great but won't take Udoka over their own coach: Bickerstaff after their big leap forward, Pop's group since they always hire within, Spoelstra, Kidd who just came off a finals appearance, Redick because teams prioritize LeBron over the coach, and Ty Lue, who's resume is better and coming off a better season than expected.

That's already 13 coaches that if given the choice, will not swap to Udoka. He is not a bad coach, but hardly irreplacable type.

I don't think ANY COACH could have done what he has done

When you start with a false premis .. . what follows is not overly relevent

From the culture reset, to staying the course of the rebuild and not wanting to rush it, to having the influence to get culture-setting vets in like Brooks/FVV instead of Harden, to being the leading voice of our defensive foundation and mentality, to being hard on the guys at the right time and lifting them up at others... Ime has been one of the best things Rockets have done during the rebuild.

And not taking responsibility for what he could have done better. It’s always the player’s fault.

Dude reset the culture and won 50 games in 2 years but nah, he's overrated already.. Crazy thing is the so-called "CF vets" on here cosign these braindead threads but swear they know the components of running a sports franchise... SMH.. If I had the unique ability to give a damn, I'd be highly disappointed in some of yall .. :D

Getting rid of FVV does not magically make a better PG appear.
