Lol @ the thought of Harden leading any team to the Finals. Bum ass loser couldn’t even get out of the first round again and had 7 total points in an elimination game.

LOL the irony after CF posters here pining for Harden all season. Harden just wasted possibly the last healthy season of Kawhi's career.

Game 7 got outplayed by Westbrook! Showed no heart, no hustle no fight! FVV is nowhere as good as Harden but he will dive for loose balls, plays hard defense and scrab for boards even if he is 5'10.

 

I think both of these are true. I'd like to see Harden elevate instead of shrink in a lot of big games, but it is tough when he's getting that much attention beyond a normal double team. To OP's point, we can really only evaluate this if Fred gets the same treatment in game sevens-which might happen very soon if Kerr adjusts

 

In 35 years or 17 years of being professional he never found the balance when it mattered.

 

Diff is Harden doesnt try hard on defense and also cares a lot about his image. He doesnt play with a desperation or edge of his shots arent falling you wont see him try hard on defense. In the playoffs refs dont call his fouls so if the def gets tough and everybody starts missing he is just a liability out there cuz other people are running thru brick walls to get that ball he is just playing it cool all the time.

 

Some of you guys need to let it go man. Harden has been washed for years and hasn’t played here in damn near a decade.

Not only did FVV outplay Harden, he's been outplaying Steph Curry recently. Let's hope he does it one more time.

 

Rockets may win or lose today, but it is clear Harden was not the answer.

FVV is not usually a high usage guy. He doesn't affect a game as much as Harden. This can be good or bad depending on the teammates and opponents.

Harden is not a winning player and I think it’s clear. 16 years straight of getting eliminated from the playoffs and multiple game 7’s or critical games losses.

 

Frankly, Stone didn’t have a choice. Harden wasn’t giving effort and forced his way out of Houston.
