Of course I remember the close out - I literally spelled that out in my post. I guess i'm the only one who sees him repeatedly this series be the top of the key man, and still gets beat by a good few feet as the Warriors push it. Or lets not forget the play last night where Draymond went right under the basket - Jalen to pick him up in transition - but Jalen instead decided to go cover the 3 point man in the corner leaving Draymond wide open, it was by pure luck the ball handler didn't get Draymond the ball for an uncontested layup. I suppose he's set the bar so low, anything looks good for him.
Must improve offensively. Defensively you can say whatever. but if FVV struggles instead of balling and willing us to wins, and green continues to play the same way hes been. Clutch fans is gonna turn very dark
It’s exciting to see us force a game 7, and it’s so great the way Fred and other guys are stepping up. Normally Green’s disappearing act woukd really bother me, but I’m just so happy about the way other guys are plying. I will say that one good game out of six in the playoffs is extremely concerning. I don’t think we can completely judge Jalen by his playoff performance, but it’s definitely a big data point. This team is good enough that all we need is a consistent, good shooting, 2-way shooting guard. With Jalen it’s always been about upside, but given what we’ve accomplished this year and the other prospects on the team, we shouldn’t feel like we have to keep doubling down on the potential lotto ticket of Jalen. It’s okay if we move on and he has a good career with another team. We don’t need him.
I think the Warriors are gonna decide to stop ball denying Jalen so heavy and instead focus on Fred whos been why we are winning. They have to change their gameplan because we have adjusted as a team. They have to try and figure out how to stop fred and alpi and steven. Hopefully that frees up Jalen to have a good game but I wont count on it. Pretty sure hes in his head. For this game 7 i just want that same aggression and focus on the defense and rebounding hes been having as a role player.
It's annoying Jalen isn't scoring, but the past two games (especially last night) he is playing tough defense and making a positive impact.
Leaving draymond wide open and covering shooters is good defense in my book. Draymond green is a 0 on offense these days. He's probably miss the layup as he has missed layup after layup. The whole reason we are playing the warriors is cuz he missed a layup...
This is true, but I get why it's hard for most to see since his offense has been so bad and that's what most base their entire opinion on. Now, sure, it's annoying that he's been so bad on offense, but last night was his best defensive effort of the series....and that's what you have to do when you suck on offense. Now it wasn't perfect, his low BBIQ leads to numerous lapses in his off ball defense, leaving guys wide open....but given that he's typically awful and he actually did something good, we can look past it.
Jalen played great defense and did not try to force things on offense last night. I can live with that any time he is not "on" on offense. It would be great to see him have another great offensive game tomorrow but I can live with him playing like he did last night if not. Edited to fix a typo.
Right. Maybe whatever GSW is doing to Jalen the rest of the league should study. Lakers really should have been paying attention because I know they could have used more 3-11 nights from Ant.
It only really works on Jalen due to his weak handle and low BBIQ. That same tactic would get defenses carved up by NBA caliber ball handlers. Either way, so long as he's not forcing too much and is playing solid on ball defense, that's all you can ask from someone like him.
If he can actually sustain the level of defense he's playing in this series then we can win with him being terrible on offense. Not really the ideal role for him, but it'll work for now.
