I didn't forget this time. I was busy watching my neighbor set her husband's clothes on fire in the driveway across the street. Then she was arguing with our other neighbor who called the fire department b/c "This not yo bidness". Suffice it to say by the time the cops showed up & took her away, It was waaaayyyy past my bedtime.

Yeah it was my first time hearing Stephen Adams I the postgame presser last night and yeah Jesse why Ime leans on him and FVV. They both seemed unfazed being down 1-3. They knew they could turn it around if the rockets jsut played smarter /better at critical moments but keep doing what they been doing all series

Yeah if you find that, please post it. I didn’t know I wouldn’t be able to hear the local broadcast during the postseason

Game 7 will be the last time for at least 11 years due to new broadcasting rules

I just remember clinging to the Astros and then emerging Texans even harder because I couldn't take the rig job and hated the NBA. Especially living in California with Bay Area coworkers who wanted to rub it in on calls. Hope these new Rockets show what's up on Sunday

That warriors team was fun to watch play against Dallas that year.
They just really took it to them.

After sleeping on the game I do think we wore the Warriors out with our defensive integrity and spider-monkey-like athleticism. It’s exhausting to watch and I love it.

Aside from the obvious elevated efforts from FVV and Adams and smarter coaching, one of the key efforts in game six was from Green. His stat line doesn’t tell the story but they were defending him hard and he didn’t let up, and was always there on D. I’ve been pretty dismissive of Jalen being a star talk but this game showed me that he has some heart.

Pulling Brooks was a ballsy move but he does make dumb fouls on the perimeter and the Warriors can get him wound up. It ended up working out and I hope he takes a lesson from it.

    Good team win. LFG Rockets!!!

Start Tari in the back court along with FVV. Give more minutes to Jabari off the bench, so he can get comfortable with his jumper. Bring Jalen and Holiday off the bench.

Tari can play the role of Josh Smith vs the Clippers in Game 7. Sengun, FVV and Adams know what to do. I hope Brooks will slow Butler down and make some jumpers.

Ime needs to show offensive flexibility. Move the ball, and get good looks. The shots will fall through the net.

Go Houston Rockets! You can win this series!

Hell yeah, this was a huge soul crushing loss for the Warriors. No reason to settle for just forcing a game 7. It’s at home, we should feel confident, because this was FAR from a well executed game. It was very solid and here are some thoughts and observations:

    - We started off horribly, Amen looked shook, Sengun was just static and shooting without any lift and force, Green was out of it, Brooks took weird shots. FVV kept them together on offense. We had opportunities to play fast, but since Amen was out of it and Green couldn’t get it going, it was good that FVV slowed them down instead. In hindsight it might have been that we actually were too calm, that we were fully locked in and trying to keep our composure and not get rattled and that showed in how we executed on offense.

I just would’ve liked more of a punch in the mouth and with our crowd and the momentum, in Game 7 we definitely need that. In general we should play our game more, though for this game with Adams & FVV leading, it made sense it was slower.

    - Defensively, we were fully locked in from the jump and Green definitely deserves some praise for his energy and ability to stick with guys. The only issue I saw for the whole game was allowing offensive rebounds from guys like Podz and Butler. Ball watching instead of boxing out just cannot happen. We barely won the rebounding battle. The other issue was losing their man on back cuts, Tari twice at least, and in the zone or with switches not getting to the body of their guys.

There was one particular sequence in the 3rd quarter where our zone allowed for wide open threes, twice from Moody that could’ve killed us. I get that our focus is really on Butler and Curry, but I didn’t like that one bit. We adjusted though.

    - FVV was the man once again, directed our offense and got after it defensively. Only got caught on one or two players and immediately got upset w/ himself over giving Curry too much space on a 3. Almost a triple-double too.

    - Green was horrible in terms of scoring, forced some shots, but luckily focused on just finding other guys and as mentioned defensively was great. One particular thing bothered me though, which is how screens were set where Green literally walked right into a trap on the sideline. I don’t know it was designed for him to get around it or throw it to the screener, but it did absolutely nothing for the play to develop further.

I did like that attack on Draymond and getting his rebound for a put back. Lastly, not sure admitting you were nervous in Game 5 should’ve been voiced publicly. In any case, we need him on Sunday to be better. We have to admit though that he’s still very valuable on the floor at times when they double him and are actively zoning in on him not to get going. Just need to stay away from over dribbling and passing at the ankles.

    - Sengun had a weird game, a bit too much complaining and again all around too slow and not looking to exploit mismatches. I don’t know if he expects more off-ball movement as well, because this waiting around for 5-6 seconds before deciding to make a move or actively look for his own shot is not it. Also the shots he settles for at times are just brutal. You can see he has no confidence in some of them and he needs to be if we want to win. Overall solid game though.

    - Tari & Jabari were both solid, one in the 1st half when we needed it and the other in the 2nd half. Loved how both ended up with the exact same FGs, 3 of 4 and 2 of 3 from deep. Tari added 4 steals and Jabari some rim protection. Both equally had their big mistakes though, Tari again with a foul jumping into Curry (yes it was a foul, just like Sengun’s still moving forward landing space impediment was and actually Sengun did it another time and got away wit hit) and losing guys multiple times. Jabari again with way too much dribbling. Luckily both made up for it, Jabari literally with 2 straight on threes. Play to your strengths!

    - Adams was great, those blocked shots, ooh wee!!! That post game interview as well, just fabulous. He’s basically schooling journalists and still such a friendly giant vibe to him where he literally asks them if that was a good answer or at least good enough that it make sense. And the whole “mate” and how he responded after saying “****”. This man is hands down my favorite player right now, actually favorite human being on the Rockets. Where Ime actually adjusted to Kerr in game 4 and we lost maybe because of it, Ime maybe needed that to now trust Adams to bring it home and he did.

Some dudes were talking post game about his presence and just his weight, he literally can take Butler and Draymond by keeping them down to get the rebound. That is huge and also takes it toll on those guys. I am glad he’s a respected guy and gets away with some physical play. His rebounding and especially the taps to teammates were big as well, though nothing as big as the FTs. I am surprised Kerr went with that strategy to such an extent. It showed he gambled and clearly lost.

    - Kerr has had to adjust and Ime has stuck to his guns. It has paid off and maybe Ime deserves more credit, though he’s definitely been far from perfect himself. Not challenging was one of them. I also did not really like how he still hasn’t tried to go with Jeff when it was clear in the 2nd or 3rd quarter we could use a bucket, Jabari was not bringing it and Tari was getting lost. A big line-up with Jeff can work for stretches. That 3rd string squad was also kind of annoying to be randomly thrown together, but that’s whatever.

Not changing the starting line-up might also have been a good call, though with Amen only coming out like himself for game 5, I still think a Tari or Jabari start would’ve helped with spacing more for Green and Sengun to operate. They can equally hold their own and especially if the game plan was to slow it down in game 6, but even moreso the struggles of Green and our spacing in general.

All in all, very solid win and while not an upset, it was definitely a bit of a surprise though I felt we had a chance for sure as it got closer to game time. I think it’s only PTSD and having seen Curry go off why I still am having doubts about ability to get past them. But for this game it was from the get go obvious we had them on lock and didn’t let the crowd get into it. They looked shook as well.

Credit to the referees for most of it, though some obvious fouls should've been called, Draymond should’ve received a technical and his first 3 was a 2. The commentators were god awful, only Breen brought the energy, but at least they acknowledged Draymond hitting Green in the head like that was uncalled for and warranted a flagrant. Burke even dared to say there’s been a double-standard with officiating, although she was really careful how she said it. Jefferson adds nothing to the game, but at least it keeps Burke from too much talking. Do not need to hear that nasal voice of hers for too much. TNT for Game 7, thank heavens. Also games 1 & 2 of the semis, which we will make. We just need to play our game, feed off of the crowd and should be able to deliver the KO now. They looked really down, there’s no clear answer to our double big line-up and we are at home so let’s ****ing go!!

If yall thought game 1 was nerve-wrecking for the young guys (even Fred looked nervous), just wait until Sunday.

We are not out of the woods yet. So much celebrating going on already.
