I can see some teams moving players that aren't in their future plans. While Jalen isn't necessarily a foundational piece, he's still a young guard on a team friendly contract. Chicago: Coby White is expiring. Can dump Patrick William's contract in the process? Brooklyn: Cam Johnson is 29. They don't need to be competitive in the near future. Sacramento: Zach Lavine? No thanks. New Orleans: Dejounte Murray or CJ McCollum? Portland: Afernee Simons is expiring. Utah: Collin Sexton is expiring.
The team is going to be built around Amen and Alpy. Any players that dont complement them are going to be shipped out.
First of all I think you're right. Secondly, I feel Jalen was given a big payday contract for 3 years to eventually move him for a same salary type piece so it matches.
One can only hope, the answer is a very swift no. Double win would be it might clean out some of the utter garbage posters from Clutchfans.
I think Jalen ends up getting moved this off season...unless the Rockets somehow pull this series off and he shines the rest of the way. I don't think either one of those things are likely, so yeah.... I'm thinking they move Jalen and try to bring back Fred on a reduced contract but still maybe a bit above market value.
You cant wait too long. Every moment without a consistent shooting guard is a moment of youth wasted. I wish Jalen was that guy but he is not and a lot of people are in denial here.
God i wish I could believe this. Like yall have some secret insight that the rest of us don't. If only.
Bro you are playing with fire lol Ask the question can we win with this current lineup. probably not, than who are the two who will need to be looked at? FVV and JG. why? Contract and effectiveness in the post season. Why not Sengun? Because he can play in the half court offense and create his own shots. We’ll have to evaluate when this series is over but with the performance Jalen’s put up it’s not looking good,
If Jalen has another single digit scoring game tomorrow and they lose I think he might be gone. I'm not sure how I'd feel about it because I do believe he's grown this season, but 4 (or 5) bad games out of 6 in the playoffs would be hard to ignore.
Jalen is the type of player that will put together an All-Star level year on his contract year because he will lock-in but after that extension he's going to go right back to being a bonehead. He's not stupid like Westbrook he's just spaced out or too focused on trivial social crap and can't lock in on his work.
Eric Gordon TODAY would be just as good Playoffs Jalen. Which would indicate Jalen needs to go. But there's 1-2 more games that can go a long way deciding his future. Its possible that a team win with Jalen only playing "okay'ish" is still in Jalen's favor to stay. If he's considered the reason for losing, it'll be interesting
More than likely he's back next year. I'm not a Jalen Green fan, but I'd rather stick with him than trade for a max guy like Giannis or Booker right now. We still have a lot of draft picks so, maybe one of our future picks will develop into someone that could replace Jalen if he hasn't reached his potential. I thought it would be Cam, but he's the one that's most likely to be traded this offseason.
They need to bench him because then you really could see that this team can win 50 games without Jalen Green and he is expendable. All his scoring streaks are nice little extras on the side.
I could see Ime wanting Bam who is not satisfied in Miami. Not saying I endorse it, but at this juncture Bam is a better fit for our team than Sengun and is only 27. I think we are going to pretty much stand pat though. Sengun really needs to learn how to shoot and least from the key and free throw line. The most frustrating part about his offense is his continued faking on a shot everyone wants him to take.
You really hit the nail on the head. If Jalen got the whistles he deserves this wouldn’t even be a discussion. He would be averaging 25 points and his 3 pt shooting would get better, because they would have to fear the drive much more than they do now. I get why people would want Reeves over Jalen, but straight up is not a fair trade for Jalen’s potential which is a major factor, regardless of what our frustrated fans think.
