Giannis is 30 and his game is almost entirely based on athleticism. I’m expecting a decline in his game by the time we are truly ready to contend.

    my vote is no.

to be fair Giannis by himself makes you a contender already, we have vets on the team like Adams, FVV and DBrooks+plus whoever is left to contend.

However I see where you are coming from I also voted no in this poll. Sengun is only 23 and he is already a dominant force in the playoffs. He will only get better.

Sengun for Giannis straight up? No way that would happen, and no way the Bucks would do it either.
But, even though the Rockets would "win" that trade, I wouldn't do it either. The Rockets desperately need shooting. Giannis isn't it.

At some point, we will need to cash in our assets for a win-now, clear upgrade kind of player. But it's difficult to imagine who that might be. I don't really love any of the possibilities being talked about (KD, Giannis, Booker), but then the ones that I would easily do the trade for aren't available.

Everything yall hate about Sengun is Giannis too. He can't shoot from outside can't make free throws. And heck even his defense is overrated nowadays. Halliburton hunted him for the game winner today. If they were the same age it's a no brainer you would do it in a heartbeat but you really have to think about the future. One is 22 and the other is on the wrong side of 30 with a game solely dependent on his athleticism. So it's a no for me.

Quite honestly the Spurs are a better fit if they trade Keldon and Castle.

Giannis would be the brute force to Wemby finesse.
    • That Interior Defense would be galacticos barring injuries.
    • Daring opponents to shoot 3s all day.
    • Fox and Vassell having field days.

I'm not saying I would make that trade, but your reasoning of why we shouldn't is ridiculous. It's obvious you haven't watched Giannis who is getting better.

It's actually insane that people think Sengun is remotely on a level just because the Bucks got bumped. Just for reference even if we ignore that Giannis is a champion and multiple time MVP, these are their last 3 season averages:

    Sengun
    24/25 19.1pts 10.3 reb 4.9 ast 1.1 stl 0.8 blk
    23/24 21.1pts 9.3 reb 5.0 ast 1.2 stl 0.7 blk
    22/23 14.8pts 9.0 reb 3.9 ast 0.9 stl 0.9 blk

    Giannis
    24/25 30.4pts 11.9 reb 6.5 ast 0.9 stl 1.2 blk
    23/24 30.4pts 11.5 reb 6.5 ast 1.2 stl 1.1blk
    22/23 31.4pts 11.8 reb 5.7 ast 0.8 stl 0.8 blk

Like seriously, it's not close. Sengun puts up decent starter numbers, Giannis puts up MVP tier numbers EVERY SINGLE YEAR. As bad as the pretending Sengun is better than Yao is, trying to pretend he's anywhere close to Giannis is absolute insanity, and r****ded tbh.

I can't for the life of me understand why so many people here are so hellbent on trading Alperen. Having a playmaking big like Alpi is a premium asset in today's NBA, similar in a way to long, lanky 3&D wings like Jabari.

The position(s) that we need to upgrade are in the backcourt. We can't have both of our backcourt starters shooting under 25% for the majority of games, and especially so in the playoffs. Whether that upgrade is done internally (betting on the potential of Reed/Cam, which is risky), or via trade... I honestly don't care. But our current starting backcourt has been a giant anchor all season and needs to be fixed.

I’m going to out on a limb and say no to Giannis. I understand we need a true superstar but Giannis relies on athleticism and is already 30 his game doesn’t age well as he doesn’t have a reliable shot. Also if the series against the warriors show us anything is to trade Jalen and not Alpi.

People expect more from him as 22 year old star. He’s up and coming he’s still got time to improve his shot. People on here aren’t just patient

You will Trade your best player? Yes Giannis is a Superstar and if you want get him you can give up Green, Sheppard and Landale and 1 or 2 First Round picks. I think thats enough to get Giannis.

It's not enough. Why would they trade us a 30/11/6 MVP level caliber talent for a bust and 2 scrubs? Lmao y'all are crazy.

If they were both 22 then yes. Given Giannis turns 31 this year I say no. Alpi is still around 3-4 years away from hitting his prime and even still would be almost 6 years younger than Giannis is today. Giannis will be turning 34 in 3 years.
