Astros are 2-4 in starts by Valdez, 14-9 in all other starts. 10-7 in starts outside of our big 2. That's very encouraging.
Bregman suddenly lost April suckage this year Yeah, there were plenty of other factors early last season too.
This team is deep man. Beating a very good Tigers team is impressive considering the slumps some of our players are in. Astros making me think less about the Rockets is a good thing
Tomorrow 1) Pena SS- still adjusting to leadoff 2) Altuve LF - has a day off already this week 3) Yordan DH - day off less than 2 weeks ago 4) Walker 1b - getting into a rhythm needs PAs 5) Caratini C - day game after a night game 6) Dezenzo 3b - Paredes has started every game. 7) Smith RF - had Today off 8) Rodgers or Dubon 2b - flip a coin 9) Meyers or McCormick CF - flip a coin
I agree that Caratini will start. Although, I think Diaz caught both sat night and sunday this past weekend. I thought it was odd. With Yainer’s bat also heating up, maybe he gets to DH tomorrow. I do hope Smith and Rodgers are in there. Would be a good day off for 35 yr old Altuve.
Thats still near .100 more OPS than Dubon. Understandable how Rodgers has shorter leash than others. But he really isnt doing any worse below expectations relative to other Astros. Someone still has to play 2nd in the non-Altuve games there
We would get a typically Stressly performance, no doubt. I can't imagine cubs' fans are enthralled with his 3.75 k/9 and 5.25 BB/9 rates right now.
Not to mention having Pressly would mean Houston has almost zero money to spend at the deadline. Bello hasn’t looked very good but even if he doesn’t pan out that trade was a good deal for the Astros and it was definitely the right time to trade him.
Looks like Astros dumped him at the right time. I hope Okert or King are great all season, but I'd feel better with another high-leverage reliever. Granted, that may be overkill.
