It's those shot put/flamingo shots that are doing him in. He can't hit them, it's a waste of a possession every time he takes them. If he can't establish post position or get his drive on he needs to pass out and either screen or repost, that free throw line shot is giving him horrific FG% numbers for a big.
I get the intimidation factor, but he needs to step up in that situation. Don't p***y out and settle for a shot you never make, take it to the hole and try and foul him out. I just feel like if he stopped those crappy shots he'd be much more impactful.
Sengun showed up and like most of the time was the best player on the team. Unfortunately, he can't carry the team yet, he still needs to grow, but has had 3 out of 4 good games, yet here are people complaining when our backcourt has shown up only once in 4 games, each in different games. Our fans are such idiots, FVV and JG have only each had one good game out of 4, and they blame Sengun. What a bunch of ingrates. All Sengun needs is somebody else to have a good game at the same time he does like when JG showed up 1 time, and it would be a completely different series.
Here's what actually happened: Draymond completely took Sengun out of the game. Like, erased him. The only time Sengun looked comfortable was when he was matched up against a rookie center or The Mitten, and that’s not exactly a win. Now, yeah, Jalen Green had a rough night. But let’s not pretend Sengun was some bright spot just because he had the ball more. He struggled too, just with more volume. And that's the real takeaway. The Rockets have some big decisions coming. If they're serious about taking the next step, they've got to be open to everything. That means looking at Green. That means looking at Sengun. No one should be off limits.
He’s obvious flaws in his offensive game that need major addressing in the offseason, but the man gave it his all for 42mins on both sides of the ball. He’s got the alpha dog mentality and gaining experience for the future.
He is not a Superstar right now who can win games solo but he is the consistent player in this Play Off Series. The Rockets made a lot of things good in my opinion. Alpi missed some shots, what he normally hits. This Series is not over yet. Imagine the Series is going to 7 games the Rockets got 2 games at home. I am believe that the Rockets can turn this Series!
Yeah I'll take some bad shooting decisions with the heart of a lion every day. Hopefully they just enforce to him that the free throw line shots suck for him and to focus on banging down low again and his numbers will shoot up naturally I think. His FG% is just unusual for a big but he's still getting decent numbers, so imagine how many points he'd have if the majority of those flamingo shots were replaced with post hooks 5 foot closer to the basket? I'd guess that he'd be averaging a few more points and he'd have a more typical FG% for a post playing big man.
Too much sense in this post. One thing I'd like him to do is when they put a guard on to attempt to steal the ball at the three pt line, just keep going to the basket for the deceleration slo mo lay up non of that 15ft shot put.
Why didn’t we hire a coach to work with Sengun after Tiago Splitter left? I think Splitter’s impact was greater than we realize. We should definitely address this gap next offseason. I don’t believe we could shoot this poorly, considering our roster is full of talent. It likely has something to do with the incompetence of our assistant coaches and trainers.
He is only 22, he has flaws in his game and still he is this teams best player, allstar and a high possible all nba 3 team player... He needs good players around him, he gave everything for his team, fans this match and this kids deserves all respect. Even his struggles sometimes, he is bonafide star of this team..
Wrong. Sengun carried this team last night and now you're dumping on him? Jalen only fan alt account.
