Anyone know where I can download the full seasons of Louie? They used to be on Prime but can't find them anymore.

Why does it seem like 1970's media was dominated by NYC?

I'll admit I'll give a honorable mention to Power and Dexter. They both jumped the shark but I liked them early

Maybe the Swing in that direction was because Networks (at least CBS) were trying to create distance from the Rural - Country shows that were common in the 1960's

    CBS
    • Andy Griffith
    • Gomer Pyle
    • Beverley Hillbillies
    • Petticoat Junction
    • Green Acres

    CBS
    • All In The Family
    • The Jeffersons
    • Maude

People are mentioning Dexter and the Sopranos in a sitcom thread?

Popular Zeitgeist in the 70's was really gritty and urban. Or it was honkey-tonk, and also gritty. Nobody cut their hair or their beards. Everyone smoked. It was a dirty time and a low, crime-filled time in NYC, ripe for stories. Also, I think a lot of media and studios were bigger in NYC then than they are today, when most production moved to Hollywood.
