Mostly agree. That said, I'd like to see Scruggs with a pure focus on guard for a year. Think he could be good if he doesn't have to call protections. Take Wilson to play center? Chance he's elite and Patterson is oft injured. Ty and get a tackle next year in what is, hopefully a better class.

That said, I do like Ersery.

Burden might be the player Caserio was talking about, but his production fell off this year. He waves a concern flag for me and I see why he fell.

Higgins looks like he has that “it” factor on his film. His pro comp is Nico but not sure if that pushes the Texans away from that similarity.

Texans seem to love Kyle Williams but Noel looks like he might be a better version. Both are small and give me too much of Tank vibes in size and durability.

Then there’s Jack Bech and Savion Williams as possible later options. Would love to see us grab Burden or Higgins and then come back with Bech or if they see Burden more in the slot then they go Williams maybe on the outside.

I like Ersery but I think Tate Ratledge is ready and able to start at guard on day one or soon thereafter.

Ratledge without the injury history should be an elite prospect

I'll end the night on this. Even if you think the Rams got a better deal, that doesn't mean Nick got fleeced (I think the deals are comparable). If I buy a new for 50% off sticker and you buy one 45% off sticker, I didn't get screwed. I still got a good deal because most people pay close to sticker.

Worrying about someone getting a better deal is what actually get you fleeced. You hold the stock too long, you don't cash out at the casino, or you piss the other party off trying to get max value. Happens all the time in my business. If you just focus on getting positive value when you can, you'll do much better over time. It adds up. Stop worrying about what someone else got.

I feel pretty good about this after trading down and around for Lassiter/Bullock last year.

    5 top 100 picks.

Me hoping tomorrow looks something like this,

    Higgins
    Arroyo
    Ratledge
    Alfred Collins
    Dylan Sampson

Caserio getting five 100 picks is truly special, good work.

It's good work as long as at least 4 of the 5 turn out to be players.

I like it except that in the real world I believe we have to take Ratledge at 34 as he will otherwise be gone by the time we pick again. Ersery is a project but Ratledge is ready now.

All of that is ancient history. Friday evening is what's going to make or break our draft. Let's hope that Nick goes 5-for-5 in picking quality players that make an immediate and positive impact on our team. Our biggest need is IOL and at least one high-quality WR to give us three, legitimate, starting receivers.

My hope is that, by next year's draft, our IOL is above average and then we can focus on OT.
