....and that's after all the balls have bounced and we know where everyone is slotted on 5/12/25.

Last year, I loved getting Reed at #3 and having him sit majority of the season and learn. We saw glimpses of his talent when he got on the court with us and RGV.

This year, it would be nice to have someone clog the paint since Adams is getting older. I would like Alpi playing PF where he can dominate, but that's my 2 cents.

Personally, I'm just not sure where we go with this pick.

EDIT: Forgot to add BPA and Trade the Pick options.

    We still need a 7ft, 3 and D guy. I'm thinking Maluach.

We can get a veteran flyswatter/rebounder cheap.
    I'm not taking a backup up 5 at 9 or 10.
    This is a valuable asset.
    It needs to be maximized.
    ( and I don't like Maluach)

Most likely this pick is dealt.

I'm assuming it gets dealt with other assets for an All Star level player.

I vote center because Adams is on his last legs so we are going to need someone that can come in, clean the glass, and block shots.

This depends though, if its a top 5 pick, BPA no matter what. Otherwise, I'd go for center.

I haven't looked at prospects in depth yet, but more so than any other sport I am definitely against drafting for need in the NBA. If we are taking a player at 9 take whoever the best prospect is and don't force any specific position.

Personally though, unless we fall in love with a player in that range I'd rather trade the pick for someone that can come in and help right away.

At first I wanted a center like Maluach or Newell

Now I’m thinking we light a fire on Jalen’s ass and get another guard.

not big on anyone outside Edgecombe or Harper but I wouldn’t hate it if we ended up with Tre Johnson

Im just praying for the #1 pick so Stone doesnt have to be tasked with building a roster.

I’m always on the BPA camp. Always get the best player, and worry about other moves later.

im not sure we want to draft for position. So much of our team is in flux developmentally it’s hard to know what our future is at various positions. We don’t know who is gonna end up being our point guard of the future. We don’t know what we have in Cam yet, or what Tari’s outlook is health-wise. Hard to know who the future SF is. Amen is positionless. I guess right now you assume Sengun is our future at the 5 and Jalen at the 2, but we need rim protection behind Sengun and better shooting in our backcourt. If we really like Maluach or Tre Johnson I doubt having Sengun or Jalen playing the same position would stop us from drafting them.

If we keep the pick I think we need to draft BPA with the skill-sets we need. We need shooting and rim protection the most. And we still need guys that can create their own offense, especially since we don’t seem to have much of an offensive system. And we need ball handling and good perimeter D.

I like Tre Johnson and Kon as shooters. Maluach is really the only rim-protecting big (but a real project). Fears and Jakaconis can create and handle the ball, but the shooting and defense need improvement. Queen and CMB feel duplicative with non-shooters we already have on the roster, but I think both will be good NBA plsyers. My sleeper pick is Carter Bryant but I don’t see how developmental prospects get on the court anytime soon.

I’d still prefer to trade the pick unless it’s top 4 or our scouts have strong conviction about a particular player.

I say draft the best outside shooter available regardless of position.

Adams has been getting steadily better all season, looks to me like he has another year or two in the tank. If Knueppel is available at 9, I hope we draft him. Jakucionis, not sure, but maybe. Can't think of anyone else who might fall to 9 who might be worthy.

I think that choosing BPA is always a better policy than drafting per position. If the BPA will also be a PG/combo that can hit 3’s and defend well, that would be nice. Together with Reed development, we’ll be able to reduce our reliance on Fred as our sole pg on court.
