What needs to change 1. More Alpi-Adams-Smith line up Adam's was better on the parameter than I thought Rebounding was great Jabari maybe the best balance of offense defense outside of Alpi 2. 17 pts from our starting backcourt For comparison pod person ski had 14 Adjustment. Maybe Reed is the answer Either we limit curry to less than 25 or we match him Being outscored 45 to 17 ain't cutting it Reed might give up some points but If he gives up 35 but scores 23...I think we good 3. No more 13 pt quarters. Period. 4. Trust the bench. Get some of those guys in Throw bodies at curry 5. We not getting calls in the paint Driving or rebounding ...so....throw them bows Jabari imo is the key. He can be KD if he has the mentality Just like Horry could have been so much more but didn't have the mentality So....at minimum he is Horry...what ever you need at the moment At best KD lite Rocket River
More shots for Jabari, less shots for FVV. If we can have a stellar percentage of 33% from threes, we will win. I'll take 30% fron threes at this point. I'd give some minutes to Cam or Reed. 12 minutes
1. Get in to offensive sets quicker and run something different (see 4 and 5). 2. Increase Jabari's minutes. 3. Give Jeff Green some of Jalens minutes. 4 4. Have Jabari in to the high post with Reed out there. 5. Have Amen bring the ball up with a shooter out there, either Reed, Holiday, Jeff Green, Jabari.
The issue is guard play and Ime has cornered himself to the point where he has no adjustments he can make. Once Ime ensured that Reed and Cam are not viable rotation players, he can only play a guard rotation of FVV/Jalen/Amen. Because everyone else in the rotation is a forward or center. As long as FVV/Jalen keep being bad shooters and Amen doesn't suddenly take a leap into another stratosphere, the Rockets offense will keep sputtering.
Limit FVF minutes to 25-30 min, play Reed and Cam extended minutes, use the Tari, Adams, Eason tandem more. Limit Butler’s touch and Poz’s, play fast and attack the rim quickly. Use Green as a cutter. That should do it for game 2, at least.
1. Breathe. They were the proverbial "deer in the headlights" last night and got run over by a mack truck. 2. See the positives. We held a team with Curry going nuts to 95 points. They didn't beat us nearly as much as we beat ourselves.
There was a thread a week or so ago asking which players needed to step up to win. I mentioned that it will come down to our backcourt. I was also very disturbed by our last game with the starters in Denver. we have to do something to get Jalen going. Scheme it up to make it as easy on him as possible. The rest is up to him. Fred has to knock down open shots; it’s just that simple. And more Bari. We need to be using his length to our advantage offensively. We need to be increasing his usage shooting over these Golden State midgets.
1.Get FVV off the ball, Amen or JG must push ball up court to limit facing GS set defense 2. Play Bari earlier, and actually draw catch and shoot opportunities for him 3.DB and Tari must do a better job guarding Butler 4. Can’t sit JG for 10+ minutes at a time - we scored 7 points the the 10 min he sit in 1st half 5.If Tari isn’t hitting his shots, play Cam.. if FVV is off play Holiday 6. Pace Pace Pace… if we going to wait for GS to setup and play through Alpi that’s what they want. 7. Make FTs!!
Adjustments: Fred and Jalen need to make more 3s. Amen needs to make shots at the rim he normally makes. The team needs to make free throws. Seriously those are the adjustments because the Warriors are daring Sengun to shoot from the FT line and for the Rockets backcourt to beat them from the perimeter. So long story short: if Fred or Jalen can't hit wide open 3s, we aren't winning this series. Any actual adjustment will be throwing our game plan out the window and starting Jabari Smith and Aaron Holiday or something. We could always try and speed the game up but that's not our game and plays into their hands more than it does to ours. Can do it in stints but GSW is smart and they'll adjust quickly. Then they'll just turn our 15 year olds into decision makers and that's not what we want. The Rockets best offensive set right now is with the double big lineup, throw something at the rim and hope one of Adams, Sengun, Jabari or Amen catch it and put it back in.
Here's an easy one: The starting backcourt was absolute trash. Going forward, give Holiday and Jabari more minutes in their place, especially in crunch time. You just cannot allow two guys to destroy your chances like in game 1. Forget about the process and just focus on winning one game. If the starters close game 2 when it's so obvious they don't give them the best chance to win, I'm officially off the Udoka bandwagon.
1.Dont afraid to make a mistake for young kids especially Jalen Green 2.made FTs 3.If FVV still cant made wide open three just bench him 4.Jabari need more minutes
They might of just had a first time jitters. They need to create open shots and knock them down, it seems like they were out there just forcing shots up hoping they drop. Get some screens going, pass the ball and get some guys open for the ball. Who knows what Ime will do,but needs to instill there confidence. There the better team!
Aaron Holiday has been on an absolute tear when given minutes, my confidence in him hitting open shots over Jalen or Fred is a lot higher
Main adjustment- Don't lose by double digits and keep it close throughout. Learn how to play in the playoffs for the future.
