ClutchFans Game Thread: Warriors @ Rockets 4/20/2025 (Playoffs Round 1, Game 1)

Credit for the semi-comeback, but these guys need to take a long look in the mirror before game two. Jalen in particular. Fred was horrible, but Jalen looked checked out almost. He has to be better. Period.

 

Jalen was absolute trash.

Fred wasn’t very good.
Dillon didn’t make an impact.

amen played just okay.

GIVE THE BALL TO THE ONLY GUY MAKING THINGS HAPPEN CONSISTENTLY.

I don’t understand why after that first quarter start, Sengun didn’t start ever single possession in the post. And why the hell does it take us 16 seconds to get into a set. Dribble the ball up, get it to Sengun in the post, and when your man doubles, cut or find the passing lane for a 3.

Our offense blows but Sengun is the only one who makes anything happen. Amen can when he gets into a groove but he couldn’t finish inside very well either tonight.

Honestly, this game was about as good as it could have been for us without actually winning it. Steph and Jimmy had to play a lot of minutes and play HARD to win this one. Both of them hit a lot of ridiculously high-difficulty shots. Multiple Rockets performed well below their averages. It was the first playoff game ever for half of the rotation.

No doom and gloom here. Remember, we're expecting to be bounced from the playoffs this season. It's all about what we do along the way.

I still think this series is very winnable, but even if we don't win it, we're getting some great experience here.

 

Was Jalen pathetic tonight? Of course.

Was FVV pathetic tonight? Of course.

But I don't blame them, I blame Ime for making no adjustments and just keeping them in to kill the team.

I am feeling pessimistic about this series because I think the Rockets offensive issue is not solvable. There is not offensive strategy. Once the Warriors clean up the boards there is no way they’re gonna lose.

 

This is only the first game. These guys are hungry. Keep going!

 

Unpopular take but I would rather miss the playoffs than watch us lose to the warriors for the 834th time.

We may come back and win this series (I doubt it), but I just give up. I can’t do another one of these ****ing series with these ****ers. I feel like I teleported to 2015 again.

 

I’m disappointed but I still like this team. They didn’t collapse when they got really down but kept on fighting. A lot of the missed layups and bad turnovers look like nerves of a young team.

The energy, rebounding and defense is still something I’ve longed for in Rockets teams. Sengun, Thompson, and the other young players now know what playoff basketball is and there is still a lot more to be played.

 

Way to lose the home court advantage. Sigh can we still win this thing?

 

FVV oughta be ashamed of himself

Still puzzled to why we not starting Holiday or Jabari.

 

I thought the same thing but if;

1) Jalen could've shot better
2) FVV could've played better
3) Hit their foul shots

But YES, Ime made some bad decisions this game. I said it before the game. It had to be Sengun and Jabari

 

Why the F did you take Adams and Jabari out Ime? WTH?

 

People are gonna say Houston was in it despite JG and FVV poor shooting, but they’ll wet the bed all series..

We didn’t shoot well but you can’t officiate so poorly and inconsistently

 

When he adjusted we came back he just didn’t stick with it like he did durning the regular season.
