It’s not really something i could figure out without spending probably hundreds of hours. You have no clue either, it’s just guessing. Our starting lineup this season had fvv (good career shooter), brooks (decent), Jabari (decent). It’s not like jalen is ok the magic or something. Even curry always has 1-2 non shooters. Very few teams ever can go 5 out.
What in the holy F are you talking about? You use went on a diatribe about how reputation relates to spacing. Also, no I do have an idea. Spare me the bullshit about you suddenly having no ability to estimate after you just half-assed a made up exercise about our spacing. Are you joking right now? You really want to make a case our spacing is decent? And you have no way of knowing other than "uhh this guy was decent and the other guy can be decent and the 3rd is kinda alright"? Make a genuine argument please, that post is totally disingenuous and insulting. There's plenty of ways to determine spacing and no one believes the rockets have decent spacing. Jesus.
I don't agree with you much but regarding the Rocket's Spacing, I 100% agree. Until Sengun gets a midrange game or 3pt shot our spacing will continue to be bad. Also, we don't have any player movement. The only time Ime spaced the floor was during the 11 game win streak and that's because Sengun was out, hurt.
Yeah and it's even easier than that: if you start two non-shooters then 40% of the other team can hedge in the paint so your spacing will be very poor. The results of that are dramatic, which is why teams don't do it the humongous majority of the time. The idea that it's no big deal to start 2 non-shooters in 2025 is absurd. Our starting lineup has a bad net rating. Celtics just won a title proving the importance of spacing. Cavs went from pretender to contender by just moving Mobley out of Garland's way. Embiid became MVP calibre when Simmons was traded. The entirety of Hardens Rockets years was possible because of elite spacing. Crazy for a rocket fan to not understand we're absolutely dogshit at spacing and that's the reason Amen and Jalen's frequency of drives is below their true capability. I'm now understanding why people have these silly "we don't have a potential franchise player" takes. They don't understand what we're sitting on.
Wow! Could you imagine Amen and Jalen with spacing?? I'm curious if we see a lot of Jabari at the 5 this series.
We got a glimpse of it last season when Sengun went down. We were a 30-ish win calibre team going up against an easy schedule. We should have had a very good winning percentage. Instead we did WAY better than that, we tied the eventual champions for the longest winning streak last season (11 wins) and Jalen almost won player of the month. We won at an elite rate against an easy schedule. That was with a rookie Amen, and with Sengun totally missing. That's why I always say, wait till Amen or Sengun develops a 3PT shot - the fastest wing duo in the NBA (Amen/Green) will get cooking. Goes both ways, Amen's non-shooting and Green's previously poor shooting were also a hinderance to Sengun in the post. Look at guys like Giannis or Morant, they are always surrounded by 4 shooters and if not their team is struggling that season. We've never had the benefit of even AVERAGE spacing, nevermind good spacing. It's going to be amazing being able to create from the backcourt, big wing or C spot. There are no teams who have the personnel to disrupt POA plays from every dimension. We gotta hope Green improves 1-2% and either Amen or Sengun develops a passable 3 when left wide open.
I have HIGH expectations for Jalen and the entire Rockets this series. They basically got 2 weeks off, thats almost half a training camp. No excuses!
Friends invited us over for dinner this afternoon. The husband is a Jalenista 1st class. He wouldn't admit Jimmy Butler is better than Jalen. I spent 5 minutes trying to reason with him before giving up. The delusion is real!
Truth, JG is inconsistent in regular season and it carries over to the post where defences get tighter. Watch the JG homers come out and make noise if he plays 1 good game but we still lose the series.
