Bucks turned down a Giannis-Luka swap because Luka has one year left on his contract and there's a zero percent chance he would have stayed in Milwaukee. If Giannis is on the market in the next 12 months, it will be a contest of a) which markets/teams is Giannis interested in playing for and b) what's the best asset (a young "star" under contract) they can put in a trade for him. Houston/Sengun are at the top of that list, along with OKC/JDub. Maybe ORL/Franz, TOR/Barnes, and MEM/Bane too.
I agree completely. I don’t see it with OKC. I think SA would be in the mix, because their draft assets are pretty extraordinary. They could offer two lottery picks this year and a plethora of other picks. If the Bucks have to move Giannis they would go into full re-build mode. Sengun I think would be the best young player available. It would be hard for them to beat Sengun, Brooks, and Suns 27, 29, 27 Nets and 2 Rockets picks. That would be one of the best packages for a player in the history of the NBA. We would still have all our core with the exception of Sengun. The NBA’s corruption with Doncic has altered the playing field for the next decade and every mid-market team should be committed to keeping Giannis away from the Lakers.
Spurs only have 1 premium draft asset, the 31 (i think?) kings swap. Their own picks and the altanta picks have very very little upside to be top 5.
ahhh yes, 1 day before we start our playoff series as the 2 seed lets fantasize about gutting the team to trade for a 30yo player who relies on athleticism.
You are overrating Atlanta. 2 picks this year Atlanta 27 unprotected. Dallas swap 2029, Sac 2031. Not as good as our assets but second best. Okc has a million picks, but they all suck.
But atlanta can't really suck, they have trae, zach, jalen johnson who are all good and young and they're in a terrible conference. Sure you could get the 10th pick from them, but there's basically no chance they'll have a bottom 5 record. I forgot they have a dallas pick, i don't think it's 29 is it? Rockets have their 29. Also can't believe sac didn't get that swap back when they traded fox.
F*** off. Let’s see how you feel when you see the officiating in this series. What else you want to talk about? Our guys are great, rah, rah, rah. If you don’t want to talk about random trades. Stay out of the Random Trades Thread.
Sorry, but I agree with him. I’m not gutting this team for a 30 year old. We’re in a position to be really good for a decade+.
If we’re not trading for someone in their young prime, I’d rather trade for KD at his likely price than Giannis at what he will cost.
I’m ok with that opinion, but why come into a Random Trade Thread and complain about a Random Trade idea? I did mention it in other threads, so I can see a complaint about that.
As an aside, what is the everyone’s thoughts about Trae Young if he is available this summer? I could see the Hawks wanting to go a different direction.
That’s a reasonable take. It always depends on the assets. The Doncic trade changed my whole demeanor on being patient vs. going for it. I also don’t see 30 year old Gianni’s as old. I love watching basketball and especially the special athletes like Amen and Giannis. Being 67 years old, I’d like the Rockets to go for it, before the NBA locks in one of the big markets for a dynasty (most likely the Lakers). Even if we don’t win, “Showtime” Rockets would be so much more fun than methodical Rockets only to get screwed by the refs.
I want to talk about the playoffs you shiit brick. Suck my diick. What kind of fuucking loser just assumes we lose and have bad officiating before it happens. Loser ass mentality. This thread should be put away until after the playoffs. Not be used when literally no trades can happen. Bunch of negative nancys fantasizing other guys.
The process would probably be FVV+ FRP or two (none of Phoenix’s). I’m not sure how much of an upgrade he is over FVV. And considering that most people think that Fred should be extended at significantly reduced salary, I doubt you’ll see much support for additional years of similar production at increasing salary. I don’t hate the idea of Trae replacing FVV, but it just creates such future cap gridlock for minimal increased production. Or you could go FVV+ Jalen and maybe get a pick back. Then you could have a Trae/Cam backcourt and watch Ime commit an in-game double homicide.
Then go talk about the playoffs in a playoff thread. This is a random trade thread. Welcome to my very small ignore list.
This is the random trade thread though. Whether you agree or disagree this is the venue to talk about random trades.
You’re good with me. He must have missed your comment about the thread. Just for fun, if we got the #2 pick in this draft would you trade it to Dallas for Lively or to Minnesota for a re-signed Naz?
