He is not a US citizen. He is a citizen of El Salvador. The US does not have jurisdiction at this point. The complaint is with El Salvador. Take it up with them.

Most Salvadorans CURRENTLY agree with Bukele because basic levels of security are more important that the denial of a small % of the populations civil liberties.

All societies recognize this.

The United States does this.

In times of emergency this country WILL suspend your civil liberties and the measures taken in El Salvador were clearly necessary to establish public safety and order.

I'll leave the prophesying about the future to you. I don't know what's going to happen.

My understanding is the murder rate in El Salvador since Bukele took office has gone from 4000 a year dead to 80. That's 3900 persons x 6 = 23,400 lives saved.

What about the rights of the people to not live in a gang ridden criminal hellscape? What about the rights of the people to not be murdered? Sexuall assaulted? Extorted?

A federal judge ordered a flight to El Salvador to not take off or turn back around which the Trump Admin ignored. Criminal/civil contempt charges are now in flight.

The federal judge found that the government accusations were sketch. More “due process” concerns. Trump Admin appears to be playing fast and loose with the facts … and did not want to be slowed down by judicial review.

He still has to go through an entire process where she can help him get legal and even then depending on the situation it may be necessary that he goes back to El Salvador for a period of time and enter legally once all his documentation has gone through, accepted and so on.

We've reached the constitutional crisis. Executive branch can disregard the courts if Congress won't convict. Trump has pardon power, and SC already says he can't be charged for official duties. Hopefully we wake up and realize how fragile it all is, even if the stakes are relatively minor right now.
