Agree i think Tuve should still lead-off. But playing around with the line-up could be a good idea.

    My strange thought

    Altuve
    Yordan
    Pena
    Diaz
    Walker
    Paredes
    Smith
    Meyers
    Rodgers

You have to give it to him though. He is consistent.

Apparerntly his big mistake was not trading Tucker mid season, when we could have gotten Paredes, Smith and “Suzuki.”

Not only apparently are all Japanese names created equal, Wesneski has been better than Kikuchi this year, is younger and cheaper.

So Dana got 3 extra months of Tucker, two of the same players, and a better pitcher. Definitely seems like a major failure.

I've been impressed by Cam's defense.

The bats will get going, although they're a bat short.

Hell yea, Cam has an arm baby and it will only improve as he gets more experience, his bat will heat up, I am seeing him getting more comfortable every at bat......he needs to play EVERYDAY. IMO we need one BIG bat behind Yordan

Kinda hard to do that since the Cubs couldn't trade Cam Smith until after the World Series ended. His argument is beyond dumb.

Plus, Tucker had a broken leg at the deadline...

He hasn't let these facts get in the way of his narrative though. LOL

I think this weekend will weekend will be the series that the bats wake up.
We seem to play better against top tier teams.

    Keep this receipt.

They've either got a tattoo of that or it's a sticker on their jacked up dually.

Any good GM would have known when Tucker was gonna break that leg. Luhnow would have.

This. I don’t know how we expect this golden era to continue when we have let all of our best players walk.

Diaz and Walker need to get their wRC+/OPS+ over 100 or else this season will be over early.

What I want to see over the next couple of series is:

Diaz: His hard hit rate is at a career low. His Ks are up, but still better than average. His fly balk rate is also up which bodes veey well if he can get the power to return.

I want to see him hit the ball harder.

Walker: He is watching too many 3rd strikes. He has been below 18% looking strikeout% the last 2 years but is at 30.4% this year.

I want to see him swing the bat w/ 2 strikes unless the pitch is an obvious ball.

This was a product of the position the team was in and the system.

    1) If a team is expected to compete for a World Series then it should not trade away a star.

    2) If a team has high ceiling, potential star prospects who also have medium-high floors, it's not necessary to trade away star players before they leave in FA because they already have replacements and getting talent back is less important than having them help the team win.

    3) If a team is less certain to contend, and has a weak and shallow prospect pool, it is most important to get talent in return for the stars approaching FA. If this doesn't happen, then the overall talent level continues to decline and a full on rebuild will eventually be needed. Or they must get extremely lucky or spend a billion $$

For years, this team was clearly in the top 2. It has been exceedingly clear for a couple of years that they had fallen to #3.

He would have had a much stronger start with an automatic strike zone, he's been murdered by calls this season.

Why are we even talking about Tucker right now.
Paredes and Smith vs Tucker and Dezenzo at third are basically a wash in their production this far this year.
No way we are keeping Tucker and signing Bregman so no point in entertaining that.

The problem is Yordan and Walker and Diaz. Paredes and Tucker are a wash so far.
