How? Why does it matter how, the ends justify the means.

They can raise an army through any means necessary; the Constitution apparently is irrelevant.

They can promise favorable rulings for funding from wealthy interested parties inside or outside of the USA.

I had a question, but after posting, I thought it read like i was dog-piling onto Commodore, and I didn't like that (and I probably wasn't getting an answer anyway) so I deleted it as well as the BBS allows.

 

I mean I care about him also. It is inhuman what they are doing to that dude just for political power grab.

 

You do care about him - and some Americans do care about him ..... but a lot don't, and my message to those that don't care of can point to a number of other people "screwed over" - is that this isn't really about Garcia or what type of person he is, it is about an ever-expanding power grab.

FWIW I feel bad for him and his family. He worked and supported his family. They now don't have father nor financial supporter.

 

This kind of thinking leads to people trying to assassinate corrupt officials.........as citizens feel they have no choice but to uphold the constitution themselves.....enemies foreign....and DOMESTIC.

This is where the USA is heading unless republican's find their spines and get off their knees for dear leader Trump and hold him accountable.

Seems that MAGA has become a terrorist organization, and against the law of this country.

For a guy who is allegedly disgusted with “both sides”, your posts and word count betrays you. You spend 90% of your words berating Democrats and defending Trump. It is a Herculean task to find words critical of the Republican Party … except when you are doling out some gratuitous criticism in a “both sides” paragraph, just to give the illusion that you have a centered, balanced, nuanced stance. In short, it is complete b-llshit. Nobody believes, but you peddle it with every ounce of your being. It is hugely important. The interesting question is why and I have a theory. The rest of this post is not just addressed to you, but anyone else who wants to chime in.

At this point, I think there is a large group of people who are sufficiently unhappy with any progressive views (especially social progressive views regarding diversity, LGBTQ) that they believe anything goes. Facism…sure. Separation of powers? Who needs it. Due process? F-ck that. J6? No problem. Insane tariff policy? Sure ok.

These folks group believe that these progressive views are so bad, the country is literally being destroyed. If the country is going to be wrecked anyways, it is completely fine to employ facism, destroy separation of powers, willfully ignore the rule of law, deprive people of due process. Whatever it takes to beat back Democrats and the minorities that came with them is totally fine and completely justifiable… because we have to remember that they think this country is destroyed anyway. That is how much they hate Democrats and especially the progressive social views. They want 1970 back and it doesn’t matter how it happens. There is collateral chatter about democrats corruption, not getting their crap together, Biden was too old, not listening to regular people, blah blah blah. Yeah, some of it counts. But the heart of the matter is progressive policies, that is what sticks in the gut.

I see two types in this group. The first type is represented by the @Commodore @Salvy @strosb4bros of Clutchfans. These people openly don’t give one crap about facism, rule of law, due process. They just want lord Donald to do whatever it takes to bring back 1970. Own the libs. Whatever it takes.

The other type are the folks who want to maintain the charade. They want people to think they care about democracy, rule of law, facism, due process and say just enough about those things to give them cover. But when push comes to shove … screw that crap, go Donald Trump, do whatever it takes to own the libs, beat the Dems, bring back 1970.

I would love to be wrong and I hope I am. While this is grossly overbroad and oversimplifies things, I think it is unfortunately an accurate summary of where things stand. American politics is a jury trial. Juries decide based on their guts and core beliefs. Everything else is noise and they filter information to reach a conclusion that supports their core beliefs. When that information is pre-filtered, curated, poisoned and twisted in right wing media and outlets, we are where we are.

 

Its kinda wild that the trump administration would rather smear the man instead of making any attempts to rectify their fked up.

Its also wild that folks of the "law and order" party see nothing wrong with this fking fiasco. Thinking it's a ploy from folks to make trump look bad. An innocent man got kidnapped and sent to a foreign gulag, without due process, that sht is insane.

If this could happen to anybody what's stopping the orange leader from just deporting any American citizen he doesn't like?

I believe @raining threes is happy because maybe brown people here will be miserable, have to watch their backs from the snatchers. I honestly think some of these MAGA folks would be perfectly fine if Trump started executing these people. It is also illegal. It would also make brown people fearful and deter them from coming.
