Playoff Jimmy is a concern, for sure...

However, I think Sengun will dominate Green. Green is not a good post defender. Much of Draymond's rep as a defender comes from the fact the NBA moved away from the post-up. He's smart, has quick feet and long arms and can break the modern day actions with the rolling bigs. That's why Capella was played off the court in the Harden years.

Dump it down low to 'Goon and let him cook on Dray. He'll destroy him, IMO

Doesn’t matter, the Rockets apparently are so full of themselves that they think they can beat anyone and or just accept a 1st round loss while treating it so test our growth.

GS will give the Clippers their best and GS does not want the play in. Steph has openly been saying it. Clippers vs GS is must see tv.

Nba will not miss golden opportunity. Refs will guarantee Clippers loss. GSW Lakers matchup will boost the ratings.

I just thought of an extra reason to need MEM to win the play-in … bc fukk late games on the west coast

That’s what we’re hoping … they beat themselves up while MEM is resting on Sunday … waiting … with their air guns and pantomime grenades

We are basically guaranteed to play the loser of warriors clippers. Neither are very good matchups for us.

If we beat the Nuggets, we can avoid the clippers, which is the hottest team in the NBA right now. I say we play full strength the last game.

With one game left, it looks either Warriors or Clippers with end at No. 7. Therefore Rockets will play the winner in the first round of play-in, the winner between Clippers vs Memphis or Warriors vs Memphis.
Nuggets, Wolves will not be in play-in because Sunday opponents are Rockets and Jazz, respectively. They will rest starters. Clippers will play Warriors, thus, one of them will lose and fall to No. 7.

Changed my vote off of Mavs since we can't play them. Switched to Warriors. If we can contain Kuminga we can gentleman's sweep them.

Memphis. It doesn’t look like Minnesota is possible, and I don’t want to see the experience of GS or LAC. I can’t see Harden losing to the kids that replaced him.

The Lakers match ups are pre-ordained to be the best from a ratings perspective. It makes no difference who they play. When the Lakers play there is a 2M person boost in ratings no matter what. That is why the refs are going to take them all the way to the finals. It doesn’t matter who wins the finals so the refs won’t have a hand in it, because the ratings will already be there. There is always a possibility that a team just dominates so thoroughly that the refs won’t matter, but those instances are few and far between. On a level playing field the Rockets would dominate both the Lakers and GSW.

No, they can't fall past the 6th seed due to tiebreakers.

I'm conflicted. On one hand, I would absolutely hate watching the Warriors eliminate the Rockets again, especially as an underdog. I don't want that to be a possibility at all. I would rather watch Harden and Clippers do that if I had to choose. But if you watch the Warriors games recently, the body language seems to be a bit off. I think Curry is playing through injury and I don't know what's up with Butler but their are times where he is way too passive offensively and it throws off their rhythm. I saw him past up a wide open layup to pass it out to the perimeter like Ben Simmons and you could see the whole Warriors bench cringe. It doesn't seem like Jonathan Kuminga is fitting in well with Butler too. Kerr even admitted he doesn't fit in their lineups with both Butler and Draymond on the floor. They're looking a bit tired and haggard having to get up for every game lately. And they still have essentially 2 must win play-in games (Clippers and then Grizzlies) to face us without much of a break after.

Don't worry, first rounds have never been a problem for the Rockets. None of us here have any lingering 2000s trauma at all.
