If the Spurs beat the Suns on Saturday then we could get #8, right? Spurs then could beat the Raptors and the Suns play the Kings to finish their season. It’ll be close.
That would give us a chance for 8 but the spurs would need to win twice and PHX lose twice and then a coin flip.
If the Rockets win the #1 pick the league can just pack it up because we're officially starting Wolverine and Cyclops in the starting 5.
So glad Phoenix is finally eliminated from the play in. San Antonio and Sacramento are their last two games and were very winnable, but now Phoenix has absolutely zero incentive to even try in those games. Wouldn't surprise me if they sat Booker and Beal, not that the latter contributed much. There's a very good chance they lose out now and we get a coin flip for 9th at worst and a coin flip for 8th at best. San Antonio's last game is against Toronto and is also very winnable. This season could not have gone better for us.
Cooper or Dylan would be amazing to add to this team, but man, I'd be more than happy with a guy like V.J. Edgecomb or Khaman Maluach. In fact, I think I prefer Khaman Maluach. He think Udoka could turn that guy into a killer and it would be great to have a lob threat.
I'd be happy with Malauch because I believe in Ime, but maybe not as much as everyone else. I talked today in another thread about being positive with young prospects... but something feels off about his game. He gives me Thabeet vibes. Maybe I'm overthinking it a bit and he'll pan out, but something about him when I watch him in a full game feels like he will get run off NBA courts. Sorry to kill the vibe.
This is wild, despite everyone around the league blaming Brad Beal for the Suns' failures, it's not that he's actually a bad player, he's just monstrously overpaid and a bad fit due to their crappy roster construction. Dude was still nearly a 50/40/80 guy this season, he can still shoot it and be a spark off the bench if nothing else. If he actually gets bought out, and Ime thinks he can work with him, I would happily take him on the MLE to be a 6th man for us. We need the shooting.
The Beal news is a win-win for us. Either they drop him off for nothing and lose his production, or they use their last remaining assets to trade him while getting little back. Not sure which I would rather be - A Mavs or Suns' fan. Both screwed themselves hard.
Agreed but in a way, I think we are already there and another Top 10 pick just makes us a guaranteed nightmare for a long, long time.
He's not the person that traded for him. That person or the person that pressured that person to do the trade bears the responsibility. I'm not sure about him not being a bad player, though. From limited viewing of the Suns.... He can still get his on offense, but really didn't help out others much. Booker and that kid Gillespie (not sure where he came from) are the only ones helping others out. Could just be the result of a bad team, but he played some horrible defense.
