The US is a $30 trillion per year economy.

The current US China deficit per year is $300 billion.

    Let's do the math.

Trump is loosing is ****ing mind over what amounts to 1% of the US GDP.

Trump is losing his mind over what literally gives America its global hegomony.

This man does not understand what gives America its power and influence. GOP shills on this board... this your man? A dude who has a 10 year old understanding of international trade?

If America 10 years prior to this **** show decided to go all China and do a command economy to strip private assets and rebuild manufacturing infrastructure at a mass scale which can only be done through a command economy so now we have an actual manufacturing industrial base that can compete with Chinese manufacturing and then Trump did these tariff wars....

I'd be all for it. I'd be defending him. But we didn't do that and now we are going to pray the invisible hand will in its good will create this daunting task of a manufacturing industrial base out of thin air.

I was going to reply to this earlier this morning, basically saying that the day is early, and the market has been crazy. So, who knows what the day would bring.

Well, it appears we are sliding downhill at breakneck speed today.
Will we give all of yesterday back today?

I'm wondering by now is sports gambling more volatile speculative form of wealth accumulation or stock trading? What is more speculative and volatile?

When does the market reach slot machine level of speculation? Are we almost there?

In gambling, the house always wins
In the stock market, those with inside information always win.

This current market stinks of insider trading.
Dump before the sell off, buy low, and dump before the next sell off.
    Lather rinse repeat.

The leverage is mutual benefit, but if you think you can strong arm China who is run by a real dictator that can lock up people in their houses for a couple of years without pushback, you are sadly mistaken.

Imagine you are a person who has defending right libertarian politics for decades and this is the end state outcome to it. You have to find a way to soft land from that ego hit and @Space Ghost seems to be managing that feeling now through these bad faith interactions.

Yet you don’t have an hour to watch a video to get a full understanding of a topic you’re replying about. But you have time to read hundreds of posts a day. GTFOH with your ****. You’re not fooling anyone

In psychology, there’s this concept where if you believe something strongly, you end up acting in ways that make it come true. That’s what’s happening here.

The flawed premise at play here (by this administration) is the belief that there must be a loser in trade.

But that’s not how trade works. When you go to the grocery store to buy a steak, both you and the store benefit - you get the steak you want, and the store earns a profit.

In international trade, both sides often gain. Mutual benefit is not only possible; it's the goal. There doesn’t have to be a loser. And pursuing mutual destruction? That’s just madness....

You guys do this with every next big thing. You go brainwash yourself by watching your favorite political video to tell you how to think and then you come back and say you're 'educated'. Healthcare, Covid, Ukraine. Remember when you idiots all became biological experts and explained to us how the virus came from pangolin. lol idiots. Don't get me started on the initial "masks don't help" to "masks prevent covid infections". Then you guys became vaccine experts and told us the vaccine would prevent infections. idiots.

No, you do not understand tariffs. You guys were over there mocking Trump by stating the other countries would pay for the tariffs.

People don't become vaccine experts overnight. They either hear grifters and believe the grifters are experts or they believe and repeat scientific consensus. Same bad faith argument about people like Greta Thunberg. She isn't claiming to be an expert. She is claiming we should listen to experts... who aren't funded by old oil money.

I mean you understand you are basically doing a meta rant on the mere expression of political debate amongst citizens. Political discussion will cover a wide range of fields of studies naturally like climate science, sociology, economics etc. No single human on this planet is a subject matter expert on all the various fields of study that political discourse covers. Do you apply these standards to yourself? Are you a tariff expert? If not, then how are you certain people are clueless about tariffs?

I think the majority of people understand the basics here which our president doesn't. Remember your "captain obvious" comment to the notion that America set up global trade in a way were we are the worlds consumption engine and that will always result in trade deficits/ Almost everyone here knows this.

Does the president know this? I'm genuinely asking you if you think the President of the United States understands this "captain obvious" level of sentiment?
