I don't care about development time. I'm pissed that our second best hitter so far this season was on the bench. I'm mad that even when Chas is bad which he hasn't been this season, he's better than Dubon.
I didn't mind the bunt at the time because don't have much faith in Dubon and he does put the ball on the ground often so a DP was a high possibility there. That said, if you knew Hader wasn't available what are you doing trying to play for a tie there? As for the last part, yeah Hader did that 3 times last year and he wasn't near as effective on the season - I think they are trying to cut back his usage some this year. I'm fine with doing that and seeing who we have in the pen that can step up in the 7th/8th inning role but it 100% should have been King last night. He's looked the best and deserved the chance.
Tayler Scott after July last year: August: 4.35 ERA,, 1.55 WHIP Sept/Oct:: 6.35 ERA, 2.47 WHIP Spring Training: 7.56 ERA, 1.56 WHIP 2025 so far: 6.75 ERA, 2.63 WHIP Career: 5 ERA, 1.60 WHIP The fact this guy is pitching in the 8th with a 1 run lead is just wild.
Yeah, might be a case of regression to the mean with Scott. He was so great to start last year, but then was overused and/or overexposed.
Yeah last year he got a mulligan but he's not improving. Pitching Scott shows he is unaware what's going on.
Yeah, I’ve given him a longer leash than others here and was hopeful he would settle into the job but I think it’s time to move on if this team doesn’t make the playoffs. He doesn’t bring anything to the table.
