The Reed delusion is the only delusion, esp when BTG keeps claiming the only reason Reed isnt playing is because Ime and Stone hate Reed and dont want to see him succeed because then they'd look bad (???).
Both things were true OTE is a joke league/ Thompson twins played against bad competition and the Twins themselves are elite prospects who would also dominate and excel in college. I saw highlights of the game lots of players the twins played against were much smaller and several tiers lower than them, I believe other than the Twins none of their batch even get drafted. Maybe some dude got drafted late in 2nd round IDK. Since the twins who are the guys from OTE going top lotto?
Alex Sarr and Rob Dillingham both went to OTE as high schoolers. For me it's a program that's clearly a step above varsity ball but below college ball and many professional international leagues. I tend to think of it as the cream of the basketball crop of players that are roughly in the range of high school junior through college freshman. It generally seems better for players to use it as a stepping stone into college ball, but I guess it worked out for the twins to take an extra year there.
They have a combination of top management, top gear and facilities, top dollar and access to top young talent.
read through the list of names that liked the OP’s thread. Hey I’m wrong sometimes too, but many of the same names calling Reed a bust half way through his rookie season. Where’s the Amen apology thread?
This gives me great hope! The reverse talent evaluation squad hard at work using reverse jinx on Reed as well!
No but majority of NBA prospects come from NCAA. Who has been drafted in OTE besides the Twins? In the Twins case only the two of them were drafted and they also played together, meaning they didnt face any serious competition in the entire league. Since OTE just started they also happened to be among the oldest members of OTE so not only were they more talented they were also the most developed players in the league. It was a joke situation.
No they weren’t the oldest in the league. As i said they came in as Seniors in high school. There were guys on U18 team and some guys forego their freshman year in college etc. As I said your information is incorrect. You need to watch the games and do more research on what OTE is. It’s a completely different league than NCAA. Your argument assumes all NCAA players are “good”. You also said lottery now you’re changing it to prospects. Of course NCAA has more prospects since its a bigger league. The first season of OTE had 3 teams. There were 27 players. 5 were 5 Star recruits and 6 4 Star recruits, 6 3 stars, 6 players U16/U18 and 2 pro. The others were unranked. The second season had 6 teams and 20 guys returning from this crop and added even more talent including 5 star and top guys like Naas Cunningham and Jayden Williams and Bryson Tiller. Also had Rob Dillingham.
I originally thought that Amen would walk the Ben Simmons road. However his IQ and competitiveness are where they need to be to be a great NBA player. I love to see that
Rob D and Sarr dont count they went there in their high school and went to college/some other pro league after. Thats like going to Monteverde or w/e, ok if you wanna argue OTE is better than varsity high school with 16 yr olds I agree with you lol. Who among the actual OTE prospects got drafted in the NBA besides the Twins? Compare that to GLeague Ignite which was only 1 team. And GLeague even got folded due to lacking performance. OTE is a joke league.
I don’t understand your point. Why wouldn’t those two count? Like the Thompson twins Dillngham went to OTE after foregoing his senior year. Sare played 2 years in OTE. Both these guys played against Amen Thompson. Again you assume every player in NCAA are “good” or elite and that’s simply not true. The point is clear, there were some top tier players in OTE. I already mentioned to you Amen was a high schooler as well. And once again you assume that older players mean that they are better. Is there that much of a different level between a 16 yr old and 18? No in many situations there isn’t as age doesn’t necessarily determine level of play. Some 16 yr old varsity guys can bust an 18 yr olds ass. The league wasn’t even all 16 year olds as you contend. What does getting drafted from OTE has to do with the quality of the league? Not everyone from the entire NCAA gets drafted. You have dozens of teams and hundreds of players trying to get drafted into 2 rounds. OTE has 27 players. Also OTE is a different league. Some use it to prep for college. Some go directly to the NBA. So your comparison isn’t a one to one comparison. And Sarr was drafted out of OTE. Dillingham was drafted as well although he played a year or so at KEN. The point was the caliber of players that roll thru OTE. Its not all 15 yr olds as you keep saying. Simply false.
