Another game where Jalen started with a bad shooting night, but played hard on defense and intelligently on offense until his shot returned to him—after which he cooked! Jalen used to never be able to recover from poor starts. Now, it doesn’t seem to matter, it feels like he could legitimately get hot at any time regardless of what happened before
He’s turned that step back 20ft jumper from a weakness into his strength. He’s knocking them down and saving bad possessions
He definitely clutched up tonight against the Warriors. When people say that we need a go-to scorer in the half court, this is what they mean. I really hope Jalen grows even more and becomes even more consistent with this part of his game.
I haven’t seen some people in a bit, which makes me feel like their participation in the forum is solely tied to being negative about Jalen, even though they started as pure Rockets fans. If a Rockets player doing well is so annoying for you that you essentially leave the site until Jalen struggles, I don’t think that’s healthy. Obviously real life does get in the way, and how things look are oftentimes not how things actually are so most likely I’m just reading too much into things (as usual lol) I get the criticisms with Jalen. I especially got them when he was struggling hard. But he’s always been a good kid and good teammate behind the scenes—all the insiders have corroborated this, even during the Silas and KPJ years. There’s a reason Ime likes him. And I believe in him too!
You don’t have to be unintelligent to be praised for playing intelligently! Jalen’s decision making has made me very happy recently
Also I can explicitly say that this post is not about Bobby or DTS or the guys who are still having a good time with the Rockets in general. I disagree with their opinion on Jalen but I think we can all be happy the Rockets are winning. My problem was very much with the people who would say that Jalen would never succeed because he painted his nails, or talked to softly, or liked fashion too much, or had hair that was too nice or whatever. **** that has nothing to do with basketball. Jalen is not a star yet. The playoffs will be the start of the next step of his growth, whatever that may be…but I don’t think anybody can say that he’s not getting better—and getting better at a good pace. And those guys with the inane, non-basketball hot takes aren’t even around so we can make fun of them
Now that he’s being allowed to control the ball, and create…it helps him stay engaged even when his shot not falling to start… and then once he can start getting downhill….. the 4th he is our closure
Literally said out loud "Amen is doing his job. Now do yours Jalen." And he did. Shut the door on the Warriors. Two massive games from Jalen against two massive opponents. Wasn't perfect today. But it was what we needed.
These 4 baskets took the air out of the Warriors and turned the last 3 mins of the game a mini-celebration.
This is the last time you have posted in this thread, which was after the March 10th game. Since Jalen has scored... 29 W 23 W 28 W 30 W 26 W 6 W 30 L 32 W 21 W 33 W 9 L 22 W 34 W 21 W Going 12-2 in those games, and 15-2 overall. I guess it's just as interesting to have conversations about Jalen Green with these results. Coupled with your avatar it's a peculiar way of going about being a fan of an NBA team.
now thinking back on it, that Lakers game was such an anomaly for Ime to pull Green in the fourth quarter during this 13-2 stretch because Ime has consistently made Jalen the primary ball handler in the fourth like to the point where even if someone like Fred grabs a rebound hes looking for Jalen to bring the ball up. And besides that Lakers game Ime trusts Jalen to be the ball handler in the fourth even when he is struggling from the field before the fourth. That doesn't mean it's just a heliocentric offense though in the fourth. Jalen has done a good job to not make the ball stick in the fourth so Alpi and Amen can create a multi approach attack.
