Another guy I like is Rasheer Fleming.

He is like a 6'9 Jalen Williams, has an abnormally long wingspan rumored to be 7'4. A bit older and came from a small school just like JDub, and also like JDub has the complete package for a F/C can dunk, shoot 3s, rebound and defend. Is also fairly athletic and can be counted on to play immediately.

It’s this kind of detail that I come to CFs. Where else are you going to find this type of information? Nowhere! Thank you matchesmalone!

Crazier thing is that it has been an eternity that a Cougar has actually played for the Rockets.

With a loss to New York today and a Miami win against Philadelphia tomorrow, the PHX pick will be in the #10 slot.

    Oh, how sweet it is!!!

I tried to Google all the Cougars who played for the Rockets and Google AI tells me that list includes Hakeem Olajuwon, Clyde Drexler, and Ralph Sampson.

Anyway, I think Armoni Brooks was our last Cougar back in 2021.

Just watched some highlights. This kid looks awesome. He moves like a wing but still plays like a big man. I would be very interested in him. He’s only 20.

I like him, and he can be counted to play immediately. His handle is weak. I think he plays like Tari, but he isn't explosive. He is fairly athletic though.

Ok, we need to harness our collective Rockets fandom mental acuity to manifest this outcome!

I already love our team, but adding Cooper would make us dominant. When this happens, Stone will go down in the history books and Jerry West's ghost will be envious. Let's make it happen my friends!!

Yeah tbh I dont understand how he could be a junior at 20, like Reed Sheppard was a freshman at 20 lol

Rasheer Fleming? Nah he is a junior.

Like I said he is like the PF version of Jalen Williams at this point.

The way Walter Clayton Jr. has been playing reminds me of how Curry balled out in the NCAA tournament. If Maluach is already gone, maybe we pick him, let Fred go, and run with a PG rotation of Reed/WCJ/Holiday.

I would 100% trade up for Flagg. Trade Jabari, Cam and Eason. But we all know the Spurs are getting the #1 pick again.

Flagg losing a heartbreaker in the Final 4 does set up my favorite hypothetical:

Flagg hints that he's leaning towards returning to Duke next season to finish the job rather than be drafted by an undesirable team. Then the month between the draft lottery and the withdrawal deadline becomes a giant multi-way negotiation battle between Flagg and his agents, Duke's NIL, a bad team that wins the draft lottery (CHA/WAS/NOP/UTA), and desirable destinations willing to trade a huge package for #1 (OKC, HOU, SAS).

Everyone will say "It's impossible because Flagg would lose too much money". Obviously probability is low, but it's not impossible and it's more likely than HOU winning the draft lottery (3%).

Players in Flagg's position b) would still get drafted top 4 next year even with a torn ACL, b) already have an 8 figure net worth via NIL / endorsements and can take out huge insurance policies, c) lose only a couple percentage points of lifetime earnings by starting their NBA clock one year later, and d) stand to lose an enormous amount of career equity if they are drafted by the wrong organization.

Unfortunately it looks like Portland has started their tank. Going to the Blazers-Spurs game today and Deni, Simons, Scoot, Kamara, Ayton are all out. I was hearing from friends last night that the front office has seen all they need from their group and that making the play-in is very unlikely, so they are looking to maximize their lotto odds in these last few games. They may still beat the Spurs today but they are unlikely to leapfrog the Suns over these last few games. It looks like the Suns finishing in the 10th spot is the best we can hope for.
