It's rumored that he's going to go in rd 2.

I see Bech as an early rd 3 guy.

Love this guy. Hopefully he's available in rd 5. He goes in rd 4 IMHO.

It's funny that there seems to be either too many guys I want or I have to reach almost a full round for guys I want. Not much in between.

If the real draft goes this way, I hope Caserio trades up and gets 3-4 guys that can be Lassiter/Bullock type contributors next year.

    Why?
I don’t think we have a chance at him unless we trade up big time, and we are stacked both talent and money wise at DE

Who's ready for another mock? :D

In most mocks Banks is gone at 25. Donovan Jackson is to me the safest OL pick and that's who I'm taking even though ESPN (simulator used) only lists him as the #58 prospect.

For our second pick I'm taking T Ozzy Trapilo out of Boston College. Read his scouting report before knocking the pick.

For our third pick Tyleik Williams was still available and that was an easy pick.

For our second third-round pick I nabbed Kyle Williams, WR, out of Washington State.

In the 5th I picked Dorian Strong, CB, Virginia Tech.

In the 7th I grabbed small but speedy receiver LaJohntay Wester out of Colorado and Guard Luke Kandra out of Cincinnati.

Quinshon is a physical, VIOLENT, runner and is quick and fast. However, I believe our needs are too great at other positions AND I'm hoping that Dameon Pearce steps up BIG in his money year.

Instead of doing another mock full of trade wins and players I’d love the Texans to land, I flipped it. This time, I did a mock of players I don’t want the Texans to draft. I tried to avoid the obvious bad drafting—no punters at 25 or massive reaches like Hollin Pierce at 58. This isn’t to say I think these players suck or will be bad. They're just not guys I’d be happy about based on fit, risk, or personal preference, whether rational or not.

    25. Josh Simmons, OT, Ohio State
    – The injury concerns me.
    58. Carson Schwesinger, LB, UCLA – This one was tough. I couldn’t find someone I really disliked for this spot, but I figured DeMeco might need to scratch his LB itch.
    79. Tez Johnson, WR, Oregon – I kinda like him, but I prefer others more at this range.
    89. Elijah Arroyo, TE, Miami (FL) – Injuries make me nervous here.
    166. Jonah Monheim, OC, USC – Honestly? I don’t know. This one doesn’t have a solid reason behind it, and I’ll admit that doesn’t fit the theme well. Sorry for breaking my own rule

Maybe there needs to be a Please Don't Draft thread?

Oh what was that? Another UT balla for a zoomie.

Week 12 and I was hoping to have a chance at Bond in the first round. So much changes so quickly, now he is projected in the 3rd round.
Counting on Stroud's "Friendly ball" to secure catches.

Perhaps you have a problem drafting a Center with Scruggs and Patterson on board. But I'd have no problem drafting 4 OL if we could just find enough to get the job done. Protect CJ and make a hole for Mixon. Mixon was amazing just to get to the line of scrimmage when he was constantly being hit in the backfield. He probably had 500 yards after initial contact just to get back to the LOS.

I'm not a huge fan of the DB depth in this draft, but agree with others that we need another one in the pipeline. I've been taking a CB with #58 in a few mocks if the right one falls(Amos/Morrison). Of the Day 3 guys, probably prefer Cobee Bryant, Kansas and Shamari Simmons, Arizona State. I've had some mocks where Jahdae Barron falls, but the 3 top OTs and Golden/McMillan get taken, and I end up snagging Barron. I'm just not interested in the 2nd tier of OTs at 25 or the top interior OL either, I think a trade back into the 2nd round would be warranted at that point.

Texans doing there homework on another solid running back. Henderson would be a better complement to Mixon, but to be honest I don't know how much Mixon has left. You could start to see the decline in Mixon performance at the end of last season. Now that Free agency has played out and the Texans have depth at every position, I wouldn't be surprised if the Texans selected a RB like Hampton in the 1st round.

Agreed. If Barron falls to 25, then your decision at that pick is really difficult. Depth at CB in this draft is not great, and Barron would fill that 3rd CB role on this team. I like Bryant on Day 3 and I also like the Kansas State CB Parrish as well.

I've been drafting Donovan Edwards of Michigan in the 7th simply to cover my bases with a UDFA level player from a power conference who might not otherwise sign with us (with Mixon, Pierce and Ogunbowale ahead of him). This is often following reaching for Jayden Blue at 166 who I see in more of a utility receiver role despite being listed as a RB.
