If only the Kings didn’t decide to suck by trading for a player who made them worse, didn’t insist on playing 2000 basketball and just falter down the stretch….
Phoenix is at 11 right now. Can someone please clarify if the Rockets can only select between 1-4 and 12-14?
This table should be helpful. The way it works in this pick range, you can only move up to picks 1-4, but you can move back effectively up to 2 picks. (And a slim, almost nonexistent chance of moving back 3 or 4 picks.)
Side note, I hope we win the lottery not just because Cooper Flagg, but also because I feel like it would do a lot to silence "the draft is rigged" conspiracy theories around here, lol. I can't think of a team they'd less want to rig it for than ours--we're already good, so we don't need the help, and Houston has never been one of the league's favorite cities even though we're not a small media market.
If we somehow got the # 1 pick, I don’t want to see a consolidation trade for a star. Let’s just keep all of the young core and Flagg is the star.A dynasty of homegrown talent would be the best fan experience. Reed Green/Cam Amen/Tari Flagg/Bari Sengun I want to see this team 3 years from now.
This is exactly how I want. Even if we don't get past the second round, I still want to see both the Warriors and the Lakers lose. The best path is for them to kill each other in the first round and then get killed by OKC in the second.
Best path is Lakers upset OKC in 2nd round only for the Lakers to lose to a plucky young team from Houston in the conference finals.
On paper, today's games should be good for us. Let's hope they actually go that way. Portland plays Toronto tonight in a tank-off that they should be favored in, Orlando plays Washington, and a surging Miami plays a spiraling Memphis. Phoenix's next game is tomorrow @Boston. Meanwhile, Sacramento plays Charlotte, and we get Portland @ Chicago, hard to say who we want to win that one.
For tomorrow's Portland-Chicago game we need to root hard for Portland. If they are able to beat Toronto tonight and Chicago tomorrow, our chance for the #9 pick will drastically increase. Chicago has enough easy games left on its schedule.
I am surprised the Kings sucked so badly with Lavine and GSW took off with Jimmy. Not really sure what happened with those 2 teams. Lavine went from BPM +1.6 in CHI to -1.9 in Sac lol. He is still efficient on offense but became 3x worse on D.
