This Astros team and offense reminds me of the one a few years ago where we had a nigh number of games where we scored 2 or less runs. From what I remember that team was a bat short but still was deadly because of pitching and defense.

The offense is frustrating to watch right now and I can’t promise it will be a lot better, but I think there are at least some reasons to be optimistic about the offense.

I think the pitching and defense can be very good. I wish we just had another .800 OPS outfielder so we could move Altuve back to second and go 7 deep in the line up.

    156 games left.

Walker, Diaz, Paredes, Yordan, and Altuve will hit.

Plenty of time for at least 2 others to step up.

Meyers, McCormick, Dezenzo, Smith, and Pena have all shown it a time or two.

    Pitching looks legit.

    The season still has potential.

Still predict the Astros as #2 seed and have the best pitching in the AL.

Yeah we’re gonna need you to be a little angrier than that. Thanks.

Just think, if the season goes south fast, we can all have our summers back. And it has been a while!!!

yes and we are fortunate to be 2-4. Could easily be 0-6 right now. Our core hitters need to get their crap together.

I remember a time when the Stros were a cutting edge franchise. Those times seem like they were a long time ago.

McCormick seems like he's back to normal or at least not sucky. That's a good sign. We really need Alvarez to be Alvarez again. That should be the baseline.

We can hope, but 10 PAs? 7 ABs?

I'm not ready to have any opinions yet.

Lol, that’s about all you needed last year before you were calling for his benching.

    Agree with this fully

But at 2-4 I sure would rather have the guy that has been on base 4 of 9 tries playing CF today instead of Dubon

Prove me wrong Doobie, prove me wrong please

It's not the numbers, it is the way he looks at the plate. He looked lost last season.

    You are being intentionally negligent.

The Dodgers earned $750 million in revenue in 2024. And that's without knowing the specifics of their merchandising and media arrangements.

    The Astros earnt $494 million.

    That's a $250 million difference.

Wishing for a Steve Cohen to buy your franchise and operate it at a loss is just unrealistic and wishful thinking. And he only takes that risk because he's in a market like NY with tons of media potential. No one is doing that outside of NY and LA.

I'm not saying share the media revenue's, because the big market teams would hate it. I'm saying enforce a cap or extra tax on NY and LA due to the luxury of their market size. Baseball won't be fun without parity. There's nothing shocking or impressive about the Dodgers being 7-0.

Astros have to decide if Smith will be a ROY candidate in 2025 or 2026.

So far, I don't think he's ENOUGH better than McCormick, Meyers, Dubon, and Dezenzo to take the PPI eligibility away in 2025.

It feels like he could really use 400 PAs in the minors.
