commodities have been used as money across the globe for thousands of years this is a really stupid hill you're dying on
Not sure why you believe that a socialist policy like central control can operate on the capital system itself and still have capitalism. That's basically like saying up is down and down is up. Completely backwards.
Except that that's what we've been doing for the past century and calling it capitalism. You're asking for something more capitalist than capitalism.
Think of it this way, if corruption is inevitable, then at what size 500 employees...5,000...50,000, and are all companies corrupt after that threshhold? If not all large companies are corrupt, then we should pay attention to how they fight it whether through transparent governance, fair accounting, or other unknown magical beans. And we should also look into what keeps the corrupt companies corrupt despite heavier regulation and standards. I mean if the USDA or other agencies are run by former execs of that same industry and placed by lobbying groups of said agencies, then it doesn't matter how many more laws we add to "give teeth" to those agencies. It just makes newcomers harder to break through. That's probably why American automakers are eating **** right now. Too fat and lazy from corporate capture and large utility vehicle sales.
Yes - like late 2024 and 2025. If it works, expect the Democrats to ape it - because the parties copy what is successful. If you look at how historically the nativist periods of gone in US history - it isn't good from a prosperity standpoint.
It's not the company size that corrupts Its the ability TO CORRUPT To paraphrase Chris Rock . . .they are as corrupt as their opportunities If a Ma and Pa shop is the only shop in town . .. they may have an uptick on it Make more profits Only Mechanice is town may charge 100$ for a oil change knowing that it will cost you 50$ to get to the next town to be charged 50$ MAXIMIZE PROFITS that is all Capitalism cares about Human morality and Ethics are the guardrails You simply cannot legislate morals and ethics so we try to mitigate it . . .we not good at that Patent a car that runs on air . .. . only to have the oil companies buy it and sit on it . . . what can you do? That imo is corruption but others have other definitions of corruption Rocket River
At some point, lying and cheating only goes so far. It's not like there's only one way to make a flying car. A big reason why urban rail in the US has been DOA is because people looked to the government to do the big moves only for it to build more roads, more car infra, and support suburban sprawl. Light rail was then treated as a red headed stepchild that received crumbs for "one big contractor" to pull off. That's not really a measure of success for well planned state govs, the opposite of capitalism. Opportunities is a very mixed word. How it's used really is how one looks at things.
Lying and Chearing gets your further than fair and honest . . .in a capitalistic society Honest Advertising would kill market share. High speed is a non starter because it has too many enemies Buses/ Vehicle/ Air planes / etc - These entrenched transportation methods are paying off politicians to keep it dead They use all sorts of tactics from over regulation to simply denying permits Every Industry have the giants that suppress competition and if that means suppressing innovation and enhancement and improvement of society ?? So be it It don't give a d*mn about society . .. PAY ME!!! Rocket River
Whether its cultural or structural (and it’s both) it should be attempted to be replicated if it’s massively successful at a gov, economic and human wellbeing level. Same thing for human health within Asian countries like Japan, Singapore, HongKong, structural and cultural components related to health should at least be attempted to be replicated. Blueprints for material improvement and relative excellence for humans are available, it’s not a total mystery and we should use that to our advantage in a democracy.
not sure you understand what a country is what capitalism is that captures the essence of fads like cryptos and tulips
Free market capitalism is only accepted in this country when the US dominates the world trades. Since the 1980s the US have been on the decline as a world trade power, now it is a distance 2nd to China. China wants free trade now because they dominates world trade just like the US used to be. So it is not about free trade or protectionism, it is about who controls the trades.
i wish that you'd stop lying. US has been the dominant economy power since WW2; the fight is for a distance second. the US dominates world trade because > 60% of global commerce is conducted using the US dollar the US economy is so strong, so dominate, that it has been the only country in history to be able to execute a full blown QE. all other can do is a half-azzed / piecemeal / incomplete QE; eg include Japan UK China, other
I said trade power. are you saying US is the #1 trade power still? What doe the US sell to other nations? Do you think if the US is till selling everything from cars to electronics to ships etc. like it used to do in the 1950s and 1960s, there would be a calling from more protectionism?
ur publicizing the fact that ur ill-informed do you even understand what a reserve currency is? you do understand that US sell its debts, no? Japan and China have been 2 of the top 3 buyers of US debt
You think you are the only one who understand everything right? US is still the #1 power in the financial sector, but even that is starting to erode a little as the US keep on using sanctions regularly.
We accidentally turned our GOVERNMENT into the free market. The result being - our economy is crony state.
i think you mean to say that the US currency is the de-facto global reserve ? if only you would give specifics
