Members of President Donald Trump’s National Security Council, including White House national security adviser Michael Waltz, have conducted government business over personal Gmail accounts, according to documents reviewed by The Washington Post and interviews with three U.S. officials.

The use of Gmail, a far less secure method of communication than the encrypted messaging app Signal, is the latest example of questionable data security practices by top national security officials already under fire for the mistaken inclusion of a journalist in a group chat about high-level planning for military operations in Yemen.

I am scared to even think about what else they have done that has breached National Security protocols.

 

It is fat - lazy entitlement.

Those in control of the power structure - in this case, primarily wealthy white men or those willing to pledge allegiance and undying gratitude to the leadership get the positions of power and the benefits connected to it.

There has always been some degree of this in the USA - it has been, at the top, almost always controlled by wealthy white men. However, in the past, at least when some of the spots were filled - they were filled by the most accomplished or talented of white men. Not every position was filled based entirely on unquestioned loyalty and social circles. At least - in the past, even if women and minority men could not often break through the glass ceiling, there were white men from poverty or that were exceptionally bright that could break through. Now - that is less the case, there are still some that break through that are poor or from modest means, but they must pledge total obedience to the top and agree to limit the advancement of anyone else that is different.

The current model being pushed by this administration immediately cuts out large groups of people that potentially and numerically are better than some of the people from the smaller pool in power.

At some point it will start to have a negative impact on the USA when it comes to overall quality of life and advancements - when you cut science and math-based research and social emphasis' and then restrict your pool of potential people - you will fail to maximize your potential as a nation and society.

There has historically been a lot of poor whites - with the increased immigration, and renewed emphasis on secondary education, we have had a period until recently where white people have had social mobility. The problem is that many of these socially mobile whites were no longer consistently voting for the party in power. So - from a social control perspective, there is a lot of value in having poor whites.

As for the cushion between poor whites and minorities getting thin - I agree with you, but keep in mind, when someone has to take the fall - poor whites will not be thrown to the wolves first, it will be minorities and women.
