Nice! Imagine becoming defacto President and awarding your company 400m contract while you cut 400m else where to make it happen.

Then in a 4d chess move, you cancel the contract.

Armored Teslas (or anything electric) sounds like a cursed idea.

I image half the storage compartment would be for the extension cord...

China would probably be better at it with swappable batteries. Good thing they Belt Roaded Mogadishu to make that happen.

    https://www.torquenews.com/11826/te...ss-deals-because-he-drives-cybertruck-adds-im

Yoni Menaker is the owner of Blue Angel Roofing in Atlanta and says he’s losing a lot of customers because he drives a Cybertruck.

Yoni shares that his company’s page is flooded with negative reviews and adds that he lost $70,000 worth of roofing deals only last month.

Yoni says the customers who terminated the roofing contract specifically told him that the issue was that he drove a Cybertruck.

[Fortune] Elon Musk's Tesla reportedly halts Cybertruck deliveries as owners complain of metal sides falling off

I'd be livid if my truck started disintegrating like this. I can separate the art from the artist, but even without being associated with Musck, these trucks are huge piles of **** both aesthetically and functionally.

I just picture some Quality Control guy with a clipboard making check marks and not even looking up at the car to ensure the metal paneling is attached properly.

Thought I’d have to wait years to find a cutthroat deal on a Cybertruck. Thanks for being awesome, Musk.

That cut throat deal will be like a monkey's paw won't it?

Happened to drive by the Tesla store on 290 on Saturday and there were quite a few protestors...................I stopped to inform them they were terrorists for doing this.....musk is an American hero and even though he got around legal immigration protocols he was still better than all of us cause king trump told us so.....an American institution.

My 2 cents. This will sound crazy:

I think the Cybertruck was made for Musk's plans for Mars and he thought he could personally impose this outrageous form factor on the public. The Cybertruck is Musk's personal orgy of hubris that blew up in his face.

I feel the same way about The Boring Company, it's tunneling machines and his con job about tunnelling being the solution to all traffic problems. What a load of nonsense. They are for his Mars plans.

Some of the tech in the Cybertruck is interesting and may end up in all Tesla vehicles. The one thing I loved when test driving one is the steer-by-wire.

Cybertruck is lumped under the "other models" but either way so much for ramping up sales..

    Q3 2024 Other Models 26,128
    Q4 2024 Other Models 22,727
    Q1 2025 Other Models 17,161

Boring company was just tech bro reinventing the subway system.
And to be a distraction against actual rail service.

I agree with your statement regarding personal hubris. I am not so sure it blew up, but it certainly isn't a smashing success many were hoping for. Many people still think its a massive vehicle even though it is slightly smaller then the F-150.

I dont think there is a particular issue that prevents the CT from being high volume. Pickup Truck EV's are simply not in high demand. The two biggest markets for pickups is actually blue collar workers who actually use the truck and then the much larger market that consists of people who think its 'manly' to drive a pickup. An EV will not appeal to the vast majority of blue collar workers due to charging issues, however if solved, they would overwhelmingly drive an EV.
And those who's identity is tied to the style of vehicle they drive would not purchase a CT for obvious reasons. Buying a CT requires someone to be a little edgy and that is the exact opposite of the basic b**** men who drive trucks.
Overall lessons learned with the CT line will be passed on to the future heavier chassis vehicles coming out later.

Ultimately the disappointment is from the anemic competition other than BYD.

Saw a CT today in Alvin. It was overcast and it was dirty and just looked sort of overall grungy.

I had a friend in HS whose uncle invented some sort of oil rig quick-changing device and was a millionaire. You would never know except the dingy-ass Delorian parked in the front yard of his rickety house.

That’s what this rig reminded me of. Not an opinion piece on the vehicle, just crazy to not take care of a car that cost more than a house in some areas of the country.

With Tesla having issues selling new Cybertrucks, the automaker is reportedly not taking any as trade-ins. Many Cybertruck owners reported trying to trade-in the truck for a new vehicle and they were told that the automaker currently doesn’t accept its own vehicle as a trade-in.

Embattled carmaker Tesla is sitting on almost 2,400 unsold Cybertrucks, worth roughly $200 million.

It's a harsh reality check. According to its latest — and eighth — recall issued last month, the carmaker has only sold around 46,000 of the divisive pickup trucks so far, despite a $7,500 tax credit. That's a far cry from the over 1 million pre-orders the company gloated over years ago.

    Strategic mistake #1 = Design

This makes me laugh so, so, so much. No genius could have ever seen it coming!
