Yup. He was always a scout with an eye for talent. That doesn't translate into big picture vision like Luhnow had. One dud after another. Giving away Wagner for 3 months of Kikuchi. Not trading Bregman. Letting Tucker's contract wind down, and only springing to action after Soto to get the mediocre Paredes for him because "he's cheap". Meanwhile Suzuki just hit a 3 run homer. A minimum would have been Paredes, Suzuki and a prospect like Smith (who we shouldn't expect anything from immediately) but he's always late to the game and panicking. He just doesn't have it at as a GM.
Being worth something has nothing to do with what you can spend. Look at the revenue the Dodgers generate vs the other 29 teams. Look at the fact they have the entire country of Japan as a farm system. It is not parity , period, and has nothing to do with what Miami spends. Sasaki would not have chosen them if they spent an extra $50 m on FA's.
Click may have been good at his job But by all accounts he was a prick towards the Owner and many others in the FO. That's a pretty good recipe to get let go
Here are my WAY TOO EARLY thoughts about the 25 version of the home town hero's Dezenzo was either put on the squad because Espada was worried about whether Walker could play every day right away or not, or he was put on the squad because of how he hit in the spring. If it was because of worries of Walker, i'd rather see him getting every day at bats at Sugarland. If we got in a bind we could easily put Yainer at 1B for a day until we could get Dezenzo back to the Ice Box. If it is because they liked his bat, play the kid. Don't need to create ways to get Dubon in the lineup against a RHP, we know what that looks like Way too small of a sample size, but Chas has looked ok at the plate. Would like to see more of him, if he can be 2023 Chas it changes everything Not sure the pen is good enough, as is, to get us to the promised land. A lot of complaining about Press last year, but reality is he was a solid set up man and we didn't bring in anything to replace that. Brown has done well adding pen arms in season, but he might have to get active on that front a little earlier this year The name of the park has changed, batters eye hasn't. Yordan and Yainer haven't hit yet, they will Spencer Fkn Arrighetti!
Who here scoffs at getting rid of Cintron? I personally don’t think they’re going to make a huge impact regardless who we hire but wouldn’t be opposed to canning him.
If Dana traded Wilyer Abreu for a rental backup catcher that never played y’all would be on his ass non stop.
Like I said, I don’t really have a problem with Dana and never have. I just think it was dumb to fire click.

Yankees hitting coach helped develop the torpedo bats. Espada says he didn’t know anything about them. This is alarming to me as it shows how we have dropped in the analytics department. There was a time we were the forefront of it and I don’t mean the trash cans.
Anyone who thinks the Astros offense these first 5 games is any real indicator of how the overall season is going to go probably shouldn’t be watching the Astros. Altuve and McCormick are the only hitters with an ops over .600. Alvarez, Walker, and Diaz all have ops under .400.
Yankees are at the forefront of cheating err “innovative, cutting edge ways”. •“After playing for the New York Yankees from 2014-’16, Carlos Beltran joined the Astros in 2017 and informed the team that they were “behind the times” regarding stealing opponents’ signs.” •“Long before the well-documented Houston Astros sign-stealing scheme, the New York Yankees utilized dugout telephones and a relay system from their replay review room to steal opposing signs in the 2015 and 2016 seasons, according to a sealed letter obtained by multiple news organizations on Tuesday. According to the letter, staffers "physically relayed" pitch information to the Yankees dugout during home games at Yankee Stadium; similar tactics on the road proved more challenging, requiring the team to “orally provide real-time information” via dugout phones.” •“Aaron Leanhardt is being credited with the design. Leanhardt, a field coordinator for the Miami Marlins, said the origin of the bat dates to 2022, when he worked for the Yankees. He said several versions were tested that didn’t create the desired effect. Leanhardt was approached by major league and minor league players early in the design stage, seeking information on the bats.” https://www.sbnation.com/mlb/2022/12/7/23498096/mlb-different-baseballs-2022-juiced-yankees-aaron-judge https://sports.yahoo.com/mlb-report...ankees-mightve-benefitted-most-171038661.html
Baseball is a marathon. It’s a sport where through the grind, the cream always rises to the top. Regardless if a team is slow to trot, eventually every single team will go through slumps. It’s how you mitigate the slumps and how many you endure.
The main important thing these first 15-20 games is not to get in a hole in the division. If they can weather an unlucky offense and come out of it above .500 then it’s no big deal. But bad luck can tank a season just as much as having an actual crummy team.
