I sidelined a chunk of my 401k several weeks ago, but kept the emerging markets allocation. Just a hunch. I'd expect that fund to eventually feel heat too, to be honest.

This correction started with tech first and then went to other sectors. Still hasn't dropped lower than March 10th.
Atlanta Fed GDP Now One possibility is that the Stock Market will decline enough that those who have felt wealthy because of gains in their Brokerage Accounts will grow a bit fearful and cutback on their spending because the Balances in their Brokerage Accounts will be visibly lower which makes them less wealthy. Once their consumer spending is cutback, then there is likely a ripple effect across the rest of the US economy.
