It's just two games ______ ^^ comment made Game 1, this season ^^ comment made Game 1, this season ^^ comment made Game 1, this season. Hader still has 4 years to redeem himself ____ I guess we're picking and choosing who can and can not make observations about "just 2 games"
What does having a bad feeling about Hader have to do with it? My comment was not based on his one performance. Notice I said “had” a bad feeling. Not “now all of the sudden after his first few batters I have a bad feeling about hader”. I think he will struggle. I have thought that all offseason. It’s based on his performance last year more than anything else. And when I said it was a shitty way to start the season, that was when bases were loaded and I thought we were gonna lose. And that would indeed be a shitty way to start a season, giving up a 3-0 lead in the 9th and losing. Certainly wasnt saying the one game would ruin our entire season. making decisions on who starts and who sits based only on these two games would be silly
The point is you did nothing thing different than what other posters did. Astros have been regressing for 2 years. The lineup looks weaker this season than last year. The offense has started slow. Poster stated their facts, claims, and complaints.... same as you did Go Stros
We are paying a closer $20M a year for 5 years. Has nothing to do with just “one game”. This was true before the game and after the fact. When you’re paying that much, he has to be the best closer in baseball for all 5 years. Clearly that’s not going to happen. For those saying he shouldn’t be the closer, which there were several that day saying that…now that’s called an overreaction. I’m honestly not even sure what point you’re trying to make here.
The point was clear. He has 4 more years to redeem himself. Stop overrating so early into the duration. He doesn't need to be the *best* or it's a *terrible* contract. That's hyperbole. He can be top 5 and simply be considered overpaid. Hader struggled his first season after moving to a new team (SD/HOU). Let's see what he does this year before proclaiming "terrible contract". As for the offense, they didn't face two boss starters to open the season. One guy was average, the other hadn't started a game since 2018. The offense sucked and couldn't hit w/ runners on.... same as last season.
Okay once again never said the offense didn’t suck so far. I said two games is way too early to start making changes. And now you’re trying to switch it up and take the alternative viewpoint with Hader. He was bad Thursday and wasn’t great last year - no where near good enough to be paid $20M. So now you’re talking about waiting and seeing with him but not for the offense. Which by the way has four new faces…so what does last year have to do with any of them?
I'm not switching up anything. I'm saying posters who are chastising other posters with "it's just 2 games" are moving the same way in other areas. As for the new players... Rogers hasn't proven he can hit without the Rocky Mountains and another was playing in college last year. Hopefully the stench of Espada isn't deteriorating the clubhouse. Time will tell
