I'd like us to take two OL in our first 4 picks. We gotta bring in some young talent to improve this line. We simply cannot afford to have the worst line in the league.

So assuming no draft picks start, what would our opening day OL look like?

    My famous spreadsheet shows:

    First - Last - # - POS - Age - Year Drafted - Draft Rank - FA Yr

    Cam Robinson 74 LT 30 335 17 34 2026

    Laken Tomlinson __ LG 33 323 15 28 2026

    Jarrett Patterson* 54 C 25 310 23 201 2027

    Ed Ingram RG 26 307 22 59 2026

    Titus Howard 71 RT/LG 29 322 19 23 2027

This is very soft with several camp battles even without the rookies being considered.

    The key will be Cam.

All I know is what I see and there were less false starts not only by Tunsil but Howard/Fisher with Patterson at center. Howard said there were communication issues. I can see what you're saying though.

Good thing is we're going to find out now that Tunsil is playing with the Redskins and a veteran center.

I wouldn't say this is true.

If somehow they could land Banks and Taylor or Loveland the Ol will look a lot better next season. Along with expected improvement from Patterson/Fisher.

    Robinson- Avg LT
    Banks- Great improvement at LG
    Patterson- an improving young center.
Tomlinson/Ingram/Scruggs fight it out for the RG spot
    Fisher- Improving young RT.
Howard- will have a spot on the OL somewhere.
Taylor- A great improvement in blocking by the TE. Fast and great hands too.

You can win games with this OL. I'm hoping Banks falls to 1-25 but he probably wont.

The key will be Cam and adding a quality OG in the draft. Preferably an OG that can be trained up to play a quality LT in 2026.

I think next season the Texans trot out, left to right, Robinson - D. Jackson (1.25) - Scruggs - Howard - Brown with Fisher playing swing tackle and Patterson, Ingram & Tomlinson for depth. Next season there appears to be more OT talent in the draft to find our franchise LT moving forward. I think this is a line that can provide enough for the Texans to see improvement in the offense and in the W/L column. Personally, Id run a lot of 12 personnel with Stover and Mason Taylor (3.79) to make sure we keep Stroud upright,

I think there are too many variations which could work to even come close. Robinson is probably the best bet at LF with Howard starting somewhere, but where will be where most needed. At least one draftee will start by mid season in my opinion. Maybe a second.

Replace Scruggs with Patterson and I could see this happening. Scruggs has already proven incapable of being able to handle the mental side of the C position.

I could see Scruggs competing for a guard slot with a Center candidate competing with Patterson. It depends on the draft.

I expect him to have a better year, but there are plenty of variables that could play a role—anything from a hangnail to being traded, the center situation, "Vet Vet," or whatever else. (These aren't the only possibilities, just the ones that came to mind without much thought.)

If he doesn't improve, though, the narrative around him will only get stickier and harder to shake, and I would not be surprised if he's aware of it.

The narrative is the Redskins got a top 10 LT. He's played on a bad knee which required surgery after the season and a bum ankle the last two seasons. Hardly hangnails.

I wasn't serious when I said hang nails. Just pointing out that there are a lot of variables at play, and if he has a better year next year, it tells us nothing (with the obvious exception that he played better if he does) about his play here if he was not traded. or the why

It would tell me that he is a really good player who improved with better players around him.

I agree; that is one of the many things it could tell us about his play there. It says nothing about his play here last year or his play here if he wasn't traded. Too many variables to single out and say this is the one. It is likely everything. That was the point I was trying to make.
