I mean I understand people's worry about the refs in the playoffs.

But EVERY other WC playoff team will have more clout in the playoffs. Denver, Memphis, Minn, and Clips all have been regular playoff teams with star guys who have reputations and are more likely to get calls in the playoffs than any Rockets player. Especially since the Rockets are fairly aggressive defensively and as a result can be at the whim to how the refs decide to call the game or 4th quarter.

I just think the range of the referee outcomes will not be that wide no matter who the Rockets playoff opponent is.

He's older than Draymond and has fallen off as a perimeter defender (although is still fast enough for slower guards/forwards)

    I understand it now.

The Clippers and Warriors are tied at 41-31 with LAC holding the 6 spot.

The Rockets can guarantee 51-31 record or better of they go at least 3-5.

Rockets have tiebreaker over Clippers, Clippers have tiebreaker over Warriors.

Warriors have tiebreaker over Rockets but it doesn’t matter because if it’s a three way tie, Rockets have advantage over both by virtue of winning their division.

so any chance of Rockets and Warriors tying with a better record than LAC, Rockets tying LAC, or any three way tie would guarantee HOU with a top 6.

and that’s accounting for no losses from either of the other teams chasing the 6 spot.

    It’s a virtual lock

Warriors and Clippers play each other. That’s way it’s 3 games, only one of them could overtake us.

If the Rockets lock in on D the sky is the limit.

Both Warriors and Clippers are scary. Warriors have playoff Jimmy, but the Clippers are dangerous because Kawhi looks like he is back. If he stays healthy (big if) he can carry a. playoff series.

It's unfortunate but our only shot might be facing the Grizzlies. We can beat the Wolves but it'll be a tough long series if we win.

That’s what I told my girl to do herself recently. It worked out great.

Assuming home court this is how I think a first round 7 game series would go for us including all rational possibilities.
    Memphis win.
    LA Clippers win.
    Sacramento win.
    Dallas win.
    Phoenix win.
    Portland win.
    San Antonio win.

    Denver loss
    Lakers loss
    GSW loss
    Minnesota loss

Would absolutely not want to play the clippers right now, we gotta hope Memphis drops after firing coach

I just looked at Memphis' schedule, and it really looks like they will drop a lot of their remaining games. A first round matchup is possible.

If Memphis drops down to play-in territory, they may even lose to the Kings in the play-in match and miss the playoffs entirely.

Maybe we will end up playing the winner of Memphis and Minnesota. I wouldn't mind that at all. Then the Clips in the 2nd round would be amazing.

So now people are finally understanding the Clippers are very dangerous first round opponents.

Put Amen on Harden from the start and we sweep the clippers.

No, but I know Harden’s game and Amen would absolutely shut him down. Amen does not go for fakes and can defend the 3 pt line without fouling. Harden has no chance of driving and dishing on him. Of course, Ime would probably leave it to FVV and Jalen and then the Clippers would be a problem.

You heard of the pick and roll? Fred and Jalen would guard Harden most of the time.
