I truly can’t comprehend how some of you make it through a whole season when you’re already saying the sky is falling after TWO GAMES! “Rodgers obviously isn’t the answer at 2B” “Walker is aging and sucks” “Yordan can’t do anything” “This offense sucks again” “This team won’t win more than 78 games” Like, do yall just want to be miserable? If these were just two random July games not a single person would blink an eye at anything we’ve seen so far. Let’s not make more of this than we need to. It’s 2 freakin games.
I think it’s more the same trends that were there towards the latter part of last season that haven’t seem to be addressed, Ie no one on this team being able to handle sliders
Like, do yall just want to be miserable? Apparently many do. They try to see who can jump off the train the soonest as if that would make them experts or something.
1 -- It's not 2 random games in July. It's a trend from last season. 2 -- With Abreu and Hader's underperformance in the opener (another trend from last season), Astros are fortunate they're not 0-2 3 -- If the team underperforms early, they will end up overpaying for a rental, same as the past two seasons. 4 -- Yes... 90+ wins is still possible. Some posters are just pointing out the current state and that state is similar to previous trends from last season.
With some of the people on this board they absolutely would be doing the same thing if it was in July lol
Hitting is always behind pitching early in the season. The Astros had the best record in the majors starting in June last year. How’s that for a trend. I think this team is set up to be WS contenders for the next 3 years.
It’s impossible to make any conclusions off two games. If two weeks from now this is still the issue, then yes it might be time to discuss it. We have posters already wanting to make changes after TWO games.
Funny. The popular baseball quote in my 30 years of viewership has been the EXACT opposite. That "best record since June" happened with different players -- one of which went 9-1 after a trade. Then, they had the *worst* record in the postseason. LOL.... I'm not making conclusions -- just stating the current state. BTW, I was the main poster saying things would turn around last season and that was far after 2 weeks. We can all agree the offense has sucked so far this season. Can we not? The answer is YES or NO --- not "it's only two games". Abreu and Hader (namely Hader) need to get their s*** together too.
I wasn’t talking about you - never said you personally were making conclusions hence why I said “posters” and not you. It’s fine to complain about the offense these two games, it’s a message board. That said, we have people wanting to make changes already. I just responded to you because you responded to the other comment about it being two games.
Watched the condensed game Hope Walker gets cooking soon. We are doing a good job so far of actually seeing more pitches and we got enough guys on base to make noise . Pitching and d has been solid . Altuve had a good game Rodgers looks ass at the plate , but solid defensively . Can't complain 2 games in . At least we are healthy . Let's get a series W today
Yawn. I'd rather have Rodgers everyday for a month. We know what Dubon is. He isn't even close to a starter. Should never play more than once a week
Man I’m so tired of umpires impacting games when we have the technology to make sure that doesn’t happen
