    We live in the future.

…said my grandfather, ~60 years ago, during the Apollo program.

S!!t didn't "break up"...mother****er caught fire in flight and exploded, and rained hell down on a very large, large area

    https://www.cbsnews.com/news/spacex-starship-spacecraft-destroyed-super-heavy-mega-rocket-launch/

"Starship experienced a rapid unscheduled disassembly during its ascent burn. Teams will continue to review data from today's flight test to better understand root cause. With a test like this, success comes from what we learn, and today's flight will help us improve Starship's reliability."

The FAA in a statement said it "briefly slowed and diverted aircraft around the area where space vehicle debris was falling."

"The FAA is aware an anomaly occurred during the SpaceX Starship Flight 7 mission that launched from Boca Chica, Texas, on Jan. 16," the agency said in a follow-up statement, adding that it is "assessing the operation."

Substantial 7.7 with aftershocks in Myanmar and Thailand. Many building collapses and the death number is almost certain to be large.

Before DOGE, the USAID Disaster Area Response Teams would be in the air and on their way. Now, it’s not happening.

Same with our international search and rescue teams.

Can merge this thread and falling buildings with the "Let's talk (US) stocks and investing" thread?

Bangkok is 600 miles from the epicenter. We haven’t heard much from the hardest hit areas—silence after an earthquake is the worst sound.

Well, I appreciated the cinematography at least. Videographer really maintained their concentration.

I thought buildings don’t fall straight down in near free-fall without demolition charges?

damn, back to the drawing board with my 9/11 conspiracy theory
