LaMelo is really good, but I don’t believe in trading significant assets for injury-prone players unless you are desperate, and we aren’t desperate. I think he’d be a huge upgrade and great fit but it looks like he’s going to have knee problems for the rest of his career and his track record of availability is straight up terrible. Would rather go after Harden or Trae Young if we are upgrading on Fred. Those guys stay on the court.
That’s theoretically logical but if you’re the hornets, why give him away? If they get a significant offer, sure, but for something mediocre, what’s the point.
True. Would you rather give more young high value assets or more future picks. Would you do Green and 1 future pick?
Obviously the Hornets wouldn't make that trade, but regardless: If you put Jalen and LaMelo in the same starting backcourt, the Rockets won't win anything. They would be a terrible fit together because they do not have complimentary abilities and would probably make each other miserable.
Well they would have to do something besides dribble and shoot because there is only one ball. You have Amen and Sengun in that lineup as well. Jabari might as well take a siesta every time they are in half court offense because he never going to touch the ball like ever.
I would rank the "available" flawed but young and talented point guards as 1. Ja 2. Trae 3. LaMelo I feel like our wing defenders are so elite that we can manage even having bad defenders at the point. Also, they're all bigger and longer than Fred so maybe a little Ime magic can pull out some of their defensive potential. They've all had significant injuries and have lost enough that their current teams might be looking to move on. Something like FVV, Cam, and 1 or 2 1sts would be ideal.
Blah blah blah... And Patrick beverley was a better fit with Harden than Cp3 And theres only one ball, James and Wade will never work...
If I'm the Rockets I'd forget about Ball and pursue Reed Sheppard. Dude didn't get much playing time due to having a tough transition initially to the NBA speed and intensity but is coming around in the later part of the season before his hand injury. He got put in the starting lineup against OKC and dropped 25 pts (10/17) 5 ast 2 stl 1 blk. If you can get him while he hasn't made a name for himself I think the Rockets could have a steal on their hands.
I’m not saying it wouldn’t work you pretentious prick. I am saying Green and Ball would hopefully develop other parts of their game and/or have more energy because of the creation capabilities of themselves as well as Thompson and Sengun. I also made a joke about Jabari at the end of my post. Sorry to insult your sensibilities. “”
