Why did they have to go 5 freaking years for Hader? Who else was offering him anything close to that?
Right but I don’t get the idea of trading Valdez if we’re good. I realize he’s probably gonna walk in FA.
Just saw…a rare Sunday off day. Spoiler And next Friday in Minny, day off. (Thurs.-Sat.-Sun) Entire month of June, every Monday off (except the 16th @ A’s). Same for September (except 1st(Angels) & 15th(Rangers))
Cool thought for one single acquisition — but we know 2 of those GMs are completely unlike the other. Like, COMPLETELY
Honestly? How about the heads of the former Astros managers painted on the oranges. I would love to see Dierker’s head nestled next to Phil Garner’s and Dusty Bakers. Maybe even a Jimy Williams and Terry Collins noggin out there.
Early for that. Slider command wasn’t good today but if you watch his pitches, still hard to pick up. I know someone said Soto doesn’t usually swing at that last pitch from Hader - but it was nasty. A lot of hitters would have swung at it.
Abreu didn't have **** either. That's the 8-9 inning guys, I'll just assume they will pitch better next time (what's the other option after 1 whole game?)
With as many times as Scott got up to warm up, do we just start him tomorrow? He should still be warm.
Yep. 25 years old and doing quite well. Meanwhile NRG and Toyota Center are younger and both will be replaced before the ballpark. As long as it can continue to generate the competitive revenue via ad space, suites, and surrounding amenities (which the Astros are building)…. It should hold up for at least another 25 years. (Just for comparison, by year 25… the dome was already a POS with teams moving out and rats eating other rats…. And asbestos)
Wasn’t Abreu off like this last year whenever he got extended rest? And he was awesome any time he went 2 or 3 days in a row? Would be really tough for a manager to handle a pitcher like this… who has reverse stamina performance.
