Andyseralol was a Cub Fan who ruined a board. He somehow got Admin powers and banned many long time posters. This changes me from indifferent to a permanent HATER. For the younger folk, this was a name generated to make fun of Andy Pettitte who had joined Clements with the Astros.
I don't think Espada ever made the big leagues, did he? If you watch it from that persepective, maybe its him projecting what he would have wanted if that time ever came? But its also makes it seem even more dumb when he's talking about how special a moment this is and yet he never got to experience that for himself.... but happy to blame the PR or social media people that may have convinced him to orchestrate it.
Why? Do you think Tucker will have some mystery injury that doctors can’t detect and his performance will sputter leading to a broken jaw in a bar fight on a minor league rehab stint, and as a result gets cut and never plays in MLB again?
Yeah, Espada isn't the shapest tool when it comes to dealing with stuff like this. Cam is going to be a solid RF. He's going to be better defensively in RF than he would be at 3B. If this wasn't the case Cam then Cam would be playing 3B, Paredes would be playing 2B and Dezenzo would be playing RF.
Do you ever see other clubs do things like this? Felt more like what you see in college when they give the walk-on player a scholarship for his senior year. Not a big deal ultimately, but it did seem awkward.
You said the Astros messed up back then, and that hopefully they, the Astros, have learned from that. You were using the same subject, the Astros, as if the Astros of that era are the same as the Astros from this era. If you meant that the Astros should learn from history then it was poorly worded and didn’t come off that way, as evidenced by other people responding similar to myself.
The awkward part is involving the rest of the team who may not know whether thy have made the club or not.
The execution and frankly idea of this announcement was just stupid. A. everyone knew who it was. B. since when do they announce these things to the entire MLB squad? C. why call the parents if they're literally in the next room? 4. it frankly kinda ruined the moment. Just bad all the way around tbh. They made a special moment super awkward.
Isn't this all the reason to trade Valdez? Theres no way we're giving him a long term contract and he loves playing on the east coast. Hes not resigning with us
There isn't a way to immediately replace his production. I don't think we trade Tucker if Brown doesn't have a hard-on for Cam. If the is a prospect that Brown thinks is the next Verlander and a team is willing to give him up, I think brown would make the deal.
