It’s more than a coup. The US is being systematically torn down so the powers that be can convince a desperate populace to support an imperialistic war, which will grant the president wartime powers, support the attempt to delay elections and give an excuse to round up supposed enemy agents and sympathizers. The GOP, which is becoming more and more of a minority every year, stays in power, the Oligarchs consolidate more power and wealth and the corporations profit. The signs are there…and they are blatantly obvious.
We are in the end stages of enshittification of the United States. Just like a private equity, Donald Trump, his international MAGA cabal, and its captured GOP host, hiding behind DOGE, are dismantling the United States piece by piece and selling it off to the highest bidders with blatant corruption and total disregard for the social contract. If you want a sense for how this can end up, reread the history of the fall of the Soviet Union to the emergence of the Russian Federation.

I tell you one thing we shouldn't be doing: arguing with MAGA on D&D. It's a waste of time. It's more than a waste of time as they are not at all serious about learning or engaging on issues and it takes time away from you when there are other things to do. Right now, D&D should be one thread documenting all the crap that's happening, one thread to discuss stuff among folks who are opposed to the coup, and a whole lot of people on ignore. Ideally, we'd all get off D&D and do something worthwhile with that time and effort.
Who is MAGA on here? Nobody should be forced to look into left ideas because you think it's the correct viewpoint. That's ridiculous. I'm positive the lefties don't do anything better than cry on the internet.
It must be shitty for everyone involved in the military/national security state to realize all of a sudden that as of January 20, instead of being, at least nominally, on the good side, they threw that away so that we could be the baddies along with Russia & North Korea & El Salvador.
