There is so much more to the game than scoring. Point guards don't have an 8-0 assist to turnover ratio. He'd have 15 assists if Fred could just make a damn shot.
You're insane. Sengun is playing like garbage. Deandre Jordan is having one of the best games of his season.
Never seen a guy get a triple double and play like garbage. Has he missed some easy shots? Yes, but to say he's been garbage is such a bad take. Guess he can only play well if he gets a 30 point triple double. Yall have too high of standards for a 22 year old. Deandre Jordan is just cleaning up the fact that we are playing too small. Sengun helping on drives how can he also get the rebound. That is why double big helps our defense or even Jabari.
When sengun airballed the ft in the clutch it hurt my soul. Im not sure hes ever gonna have 3pt range, but he has to get better at mid range and his ft% has got to be around 80%.
With ATW gone it feels like there’s nobody left to defend Alpi, so I will gladly take up the mantle this time! He shot pretty bad from the free-throw line, but he was instrumental to our fourth quarter comeback. I think he does need to get his shooting touch back to where it was, but a triple-double with no turnovers is still very impressive, and not many bigs can do that. He’ll keep getting better. Of that I have no doubt
Teams are sagging off of him even when he has he ball as close as the elbow area. He's got to take those open shots and punish the defense for packing under the basket.
Which is why I've been arguing since last year he needs a deadly mid-range jumper 100x more than an average 3-point shot. Neither can happen until he develops a legit, repeatable shooting stroke of some sort that doesn't look like a new adventure each time. It's like he has no muscle memory.
That was embarrassing. He needs to have some pride and improve that aspect of his game because he looks like a clown at the free throw line right now.
Aaahh, there are the usual suspects coming out again, ignoring everyone else except Alpi. Yeah, it's easy to tell who the Senhaters are, and most of them are a certain player only fan. Lots of bad play around tonight, but they will ignore their favorites again to pile on Sengun. Maybe if the other players could stop the drives and the 3 pointers we wouldn't look so bad on defense. It would help if Sengun had shot better, but it would also help us if JG and FVV were better as well. Seriously, some tunnel vision hatred for just one player when all starters except DB had major failures. A complete team loss.
The excuses for Sengun are never ending, so I wonder which one they’re pulling out their ass for tonight. Ime? The refs? His teammates? Fatigue? His back? Being used incorrectly? I’m sure there’s more that I’m missing funny how he gets exalted as the “franchise guy” and a star yet gets none of the expectations or criticism that comes with it
We only see certain posters show up here when Sengun has a "mediocre" game despite putting up a triple-double without a single turnover. It’s easier to scapegoat him than to point out how Murray was effortlessly scoring from every spot on the court. Oh, my apologies, I forgot Sengun’s supposed to guard Murray too, so that’s apparently his burden as well. It seems Sengun is expected to defend everyone and do absolutely everything on the floor. If he doesn’t? Well, then it’s “not enough Sengun” just not quite up to par---fake Allstar. Maybe it’s time we start booing Sengun at the TC.
I think if this franchise is going all-in on Sengun then we need to move him to the 4. He struggles to score against bigger centers and sometimes gets abused on the PnR. I think if we can get a 3&D big like Myles Turner or Naz Reid, it would help him a lot. When Sengun gets to attack smaller centers/pfs he absolutely feasts, he is also adept at passing to other bigs. Also, I believe Sengun will take another step forward at shooting open 3s this summer. Both Reid and Turner are going to free agents this off-season and their price tags will be around $22mil/year. I'd gladly pay that if it meant losing Holiday and Jock. Personally, I prefer Naz Reid since he's an Ime type player. This plan also means we will decline FVV's team option since Amen will be starting. Jabari may have to come off the bench but he will easily take Dillon's spot once he's gone. Our play making duties will shift around Amen, JG and Sengun. Reed and Cam should get a lot of playtime next year with them being 1 year older (21) and if we don't pick up Tate, Holiday and Unc Jefff's contracts. I'm still in favor of us keeping Adams as a backup big if he's willing to take a similar salary. We also have a draft pick from the Suns which will likely land somewhere within top 13. That could net us a more experienced, older player who can contribute immediately off the bench. The other path forward is to keep Sengun at center and find a quality PG to replace FVV. As much as I like FVV, paying him 44mil/year seems like way too much when we can be using that money to get a guy who is young and will fit our long term goals better. People will hate this idea but I'm okay with getting Josh Giddey on this team. He's a RFA so we'll have to lure him over. His weakness has always been his shooting but he's addressed that this season, he's also a pass first guy who isn't undersized. I'm against trading our hoard of picks for a Booker or KD. They are getting paid way too much and they are also much older and will cost us a lot of capital. I want our squad to develop naturally. I said earlier this year, Jalen has convinced me to stop hating on him. I'm fully on the JG train now and hope we do not move him for Booker. Obviously, if we land the top 2 pick we should draft Dylan Harper and throw him into the fire since he looks like he can start at PG day 1 with his size and playmaking and if the stars align and we get Cooper flag somehow, then we are definitely going to be a historical team (honestly, Silver owe us one for giving Spurs Wemby, also it would make for good TV since OKC needs a rival who can match their stacked ass team).
