To me, the cuts and PR statements lead to a clear plan to start the season from Brown.

Give Altuve/Paredes time to get comfortable in their new position/team before possibly moving them around.

Meyers/Chaz/Dezenzo split CF/RF reps to see of any of them lay claim. Rodgers is primary 2B to see if he can lay claim.

Cam is looming in AAA until we figure out whose job he's gonna take. He won't get the multi position treatment, one position will be his everyday.

Was he? Huh. How'd they calculate that one. Is this one like a "with more than 300 PA type thing?

That would seem fair and logical unless Cam really has shown stuff outside of just games that pretty much forces them to bring him. Also, remember walker still hasn't come back yet so Dezenzo could playing first to start the season.

I'm just going to assume it's for "work on defense in RF where he's never played before" purposes.

I don't think Cam can do much to change an opinion at this point. They may think he is our best option right now, but there are logical personnel management reasons why they want to try other guys first.

If Walker misses time I imagine Chas will simply be the RFer and a stop gap guy like Whitcomb will fill out the roster.

I'd say it's less "sailing over his head" and more "left and right", but that's just a guess.

I love the story of both Chas and Meyers. Neither were highly recruited or top draft picks.

Chas is the choice when he hits - and is fine in center but I think it’s pretty clear that Meyers is the better glove because he covers so much ground.

My beef or disappointment with Jake isn’t even the bat - he has limitations with that. However, he really should be a better base runner and bunter. A guy like him really should be better at the small things to stick around a long time.

I don’t think Cam is going to be on the team opening day but Paredes has played enough 2B the past few seasons that this isn’t a factor.

Why "punch and judy" fast guys cannot bunt these days is a constant annoyance to me that I've yet to figure out.

And as to your first line, I've always loved the underdogs.

I have no idea, but I'm grateful to GOD he has wanted me around this long. But this is one reason I sound older than my chronological age would suggest.

I am grateful to be able to participate in mostly baseball and football discussions, though I do occasionally forget which board I'm on when discussing politics. Please forgive me when I do. Those on this board mean more to me than you could possibly understand.

I know I haven't been playing close attention, but who is this Rodgers at 2b? A trade or recent prospect?

Just wait until regular season and we get preempted for a hockey game or WNBA.

It does on the channels I've been watching or listening to. I'm amazed local radio would rather broadcast east coast centric sports pablum rather than have an all night local sports program.
