I'm generally in favor of just using the picks. If they get a more attractive deal for future picks or a star player, that's great but I wouldn't be moving the pick off for a role player just because it's at the bottom of the lotto. There have been very good players selected deeper in the 1st rd. JDub was picked 12th, Sengun 16th, Halliburton was 12th, Maxey was 21st. There's a chance a future star is there at the Suns' pick. The rockets don't have to "go for it" and stop looking to the future. Shai is in his 7th season and the thunder only really just started making win now moves this season.
