I think that's pretty self explanatory - with FVV shooting so poorly most of the season, you essentially have three non-shooters on the floor with Amen & Sengun.

Dillon Brooks is shooting 39% from 3 on the season (40 if you round up). How on earth is he a “non-shooter”?

He’s the best shooter on the team.

    I never mentioned Brooks.

I was referring to Amen, Sengun and FVV who for much of the season was shooting between .270 & .308.

He had a recent hot streak to bring that average up to .340 ..... which is still below league average and below average for the PG position.

And in both cases, both Amen and Alpi did participate in the first 2 wins in the streak.

My b. Reading comp fail. I thought you said 3 non-shooters around Alpy and Amen.

    Fair enough. I don’t disagree.

The team is young its a false argument no 23 yr old and younger guys have ever won a ring. We are only here for experience till Jalen and Sengun turn 26.

Lebron, MJ won at 28, Tatum and Brown won at age 27 and you are talking about the team being contenders when Sengun and Jalen are freaking 23.

Fred is fine for now by the time Sengun and Jalen are ready to be contenders we can reassess where we are and what is needed.

I can't wait until we can bring Brooks off the bench, personally.

for sure. i'm just excited when it finally happens next year. i think the team in general will take another step forward and it won't be because Brooks is playing bad, it's because two of Jabari/Amen/Tari offer more.

Yeah, out of the worst 5 man lineups with the most minutes Fred is a part of all of them.

Fred could be the best backup PG in the league. After he got injured he should have gone to the bench upon his comeback. We aren’t winning a championship this year, so it is foolish not to get Amen, Jalen, Tari, Jabari, and Sengun playing together as much as possible.

I said nothing about the team being young in my post. Everything I said is through the lens of this year.

We don't have a consistent dominate three level scorer right now which is our biggest playoff problem. Who starts between Tari or Amen does not change that issue.

This year was a success and we made clear progress. The future if the team is bright but we have some clear deficiencies.

I am glad the team is good enough to warrant some solid conversation again!

You bring him off the bench to start for sure but you’d be dumb to not play the guy. Either way he’s going to play heavy minutes unless he’s stinking it up. He did play his best defense too when he was coming off the bench.

If everyone is healthy for the first round, I like the idea of having him sit to start and whoever is getting hot for the other team sic Amen on them a few minutes into the game fresh off the bench.

Next season though the guy will be a starter for sure.

One could also be of the viewpoint that FVV has been an above 34% 3 point shooter for every year of his career such that the first 5 to 10 games was a cold streak and that he's been slightly below normal since early November (i.e., his hot streak [more luke warm streak] was from November 1st through getting hurt).

Honestly, we had that losing streak when Jabari was injured.

Ever since Jabari’s return we've had players in and out of the rotation/injured but we've kept winning.

Because Jabari is not the better shooter. And, Tari actually does almost everything better than Jabari.

I don’t think we have anymore back to backs this season so Tari shouldnt miss anymore games

It's simply amazing to me how many hoops everyone seems to be willing to jump through to excuse or shuffle around our lineup because a $43M PG doesn't work. I didn't know Luka played for us. We obliterated Harden because he couldn't win ONE game to reach the Finals against a team with 5 HOF, All Stars, and Refs that NO ONE beat. I have never so much seen the sunk cost fallacy on display. This season is baked in but FVV was clearly A MISTAKE. Clutch your pearls, the juice was not worth the squeeze. I hope we learn from it. CP3 would be the best backup PG. Remember, the Rockets FO was in love with Ryno. If you don't think that cost us championships, you don't live in reality. FVV is not a zero value but he is an opportunity cost to us getting significantly better players that fit OUR team. This isn't Stone, Udoka, or FVV's team. We all chose to be Rockets fans over Harden fans and have rebuilt around the trade. Surely, we can all rally around the same ethos. My God, this crap is almost like LOF. Thou shall not besmirch the greatness of FVV.
