I would be willing to bet he was in the top 5 for Brown. No proof of that but I can imagine based on how much Brown wanted him.
Bregman's first full season of minor league ball was 2016. He was the ranked first overall by some outlets before his call up that year.
Yeah that’s why I said I knew they were both top 3 prospects at one point. I’m guessing if Cam Smith stayed in the minors and produced like Bregman did in 2016 then he would be one of the top prospects in baseball on the mid season lists as well. My point was that comparing Correa and Bregman at their peak prospect status to Cam Smith right now isn’t a fair comparison since neither Bregman nor Correa were considered top 3 prospects at the same time in their career that Smith is at right now.
Again??? I was thinking Dezenzo's stellar play this spring would keep Cam down on the farm at least for a little longer to start the year, yet he persists...
Cam Smith needs to buy a house for the Cubs minor league hitting coach that shortened his stroke and calmed down his hands. He is a drastically different player than the one that struggled at points in high school and in college.
Dana needs to buy the Cubs GM a house. This trade might end up being his defining moment as a GM for us.
That HR was the first one pulled to the left side as far as I have seen. Going to be tough to position the D when Cam is at the plate
That swing is just awesome, so simplistic and the "sound" when he hits it is just different.......................PUT THIS MAN in the lineup dam it, I am ready to buy a Cam jersey but come on, he can't be number 90
weird comp. Andrew jones was an all time defensive CF who also hit. Cam’s calling card will be his bat. Hard to see the similarities. I mean, except for one, but I meant their game, strengths and weaknesses.
